I would say inbetween the Glen Johnson fight to the Tito fight.

  4. Between 2004 When he KO'D Oscar...

In 1995 he lost or had a draw with some guy named Mercado in Ecuador:huh**** i forget it was a really long time ago, who would have thought 15 years later he would still be fighting for a title, one of the rare guy's who got better with age...

1995 started knocking ppl out one after the other. if you had to get Hopkins best 3 years when he had it all was 1998-2001. Began with Simon Brown right to Tito in 2001.
Bhop of 1998-2001 would have edged RJJ at his peak.

Late 90s, early 00s. The earlier mentioned range of 1997 to 2003 sounds accurate.

    Jersey Joe Walcott
Lennox Lewis (I'd say 97-00 was his prime)

Agreed. I'll even say it extended into '04.

Most fighters get better mentally as they gain more experience, usually their bodies can't keep up. Same for Hopkins. He moved up in weight and is able to compete despite his age, not because of it.

To me, how would a 97-04 Hopkins as a LHW fair against the current version? Early Hopkins would demolish old Hopkins.(Although old Hopkins would hold, use his head and fake nutshots to steal a round or even 2.)

if his wins count why shouldn't his losses?
