Manny Pacquiao was a late substitute against Ledwaba, I believe. Manny KO'd him in six.

Also, Steve Cruz came in on short notice to lift the featherweight title from Barry McGuigan in 1986's fight of the year.

Humberto Soto was a late replacement for In Jin Chi against Rocky Juarez for the interim WBC featherweight title.

Also, Oleg Maskaev was a late replacement in '99 for Zeljko Mavrovic when he fought Hasim Rahman and knocked him out of the ring for a KO.

Josesito Lopez was a substitute when he broke Victor Ortiz' jaw.

Nelson said he took the fight on 2 weeks notice. Here’s a good interview with him about the fight.

Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao stepped in to fight Lehlo Ledwaba on 48 hours notice and proceeded to smoke that ass. Just kidding. Pacquiao accepted the Ledwaba fight minutes before the opening bell.

Jeff Harding was a replacement for Donny Lalonde when he took Dennis Andries WBC title in an epic fight. I can't remember how much notice he had.

Takes balls to take a fight on short notice and it's unfair.................

Five weeks. Good fight. Tons of action. A lot of people think it's one of the best light heavyweight bouts ever, but it didn't do much for me. Something was missing, like in the Figueroa/Arakawa fight. Maybe, they just weren't as skilled as I'd like. I'm not even sure what I'm looking for sometimes. There's something intangible, I guess. These types of fights are frustrating to me, like a novel you don't really enjoy but you can still see why other people like it. I'm holding off on the second and third fights even though I hear that they were just as good and form one of the best trilogies in boxing history.

My man Tim Tomashek made a lot of new fans when he was literally picked out of the crowd while Tommy Morrison's opponent ducked him from inside the locker rooms.

2nd fight was a crazy slugfest, great action and 3rd fight was great. First fight is memorable for me as I was rooting for Harding, memorable aussie sporting moment!
