beating pac really doesn't do anything for him because he was already better to begin with. What has Pac done in his last few fights. He fought c level fighters.
He'd be beating the other top WW in the world and arguably the #2 p4p fighter in the world at the moment, if would obviously add to his legacy. Much like if Pacquiao were to beat him.
That's extremely unfair. That means Pacquiao can rank higher than Floyd fighting the same guys just because people didn't think he could. And Pacquiao has been Floyd's "rival" for years, to give one man more credit than the other for the victory is unfair. Seeing as you have a history of dissing Floyd, I'm not surprised you're already trying to take credit away.
It's unfair to say that he wouldn't be Top 5 ATG for beating Pacquiao, especially at this point in their respective careers? PLEASE rethink that statement.
Where he is now top 30-40 range ..Losing to Marquez by Ko and also waiting five yrs to make this has killed some of this fights luster
I didn't say it's unfair to not rank him top 5. Let me break it down for your slow ass. Your post: By this logic, Pacquiao gets more credit than Mayweather with this fight, and damn near every other fight they've had. It's unfair because what people think (which is where the odds come from) is not scientific, it's not always reality. Matter of fact, by this logic, Pacquiao and Mayweather rank pretty low because neither of them have been the under dog in YEARS. OP was throwing out top 5 as a question, not his answer. At least I hope not.
Wow, you extrapolated a helluva lot of the fact I said he doesn't get to top 5 ATG based on beating a guy he is a 3-to-1 favorite against. I never said anything about Pac getting more credit. I said Floyd doesn't get to Top-5 status on beating Pac at this point, let alone in 2009 when they should've fought. This is pretty much a non-debatable concept unless you're a massive Floyd sack-swinger?
My point is that the 3-1 odds are pretty much irrelevant in THIS regard. The fact that you mentioned it means you take that into consideration when you rank someone. I don't care if it's top 5 or top 50, he's fighting Manny Pacquiao. Whether he's 10-1 favorite or 2-1 favorite, it's irrelevant.
If you believe that when talking about attaining top-5 ATG status, then good for you. I sure as hell don't.
