It just occurred to me. It is traditional for a new champ to take a voluntary big-money match against some aging former champ or notable. That guy would be Wlad Klitschko. Vitali would not come back at this point. Parker and Martin are not big money names. Briggs, Chagaev, and Peter are too old and shot to be credible. He hates Haye, who is also not credible at this point anyway. The ONLY guy out there fitting the bill would be Wlad. And, of course, it is unfinished business. Critics will say that he was none-to-enthusiastic about getting back in the ring with Wladdy before, but three years have passed, and Wlad's one foray into the ring was another loss. For his part, Wlad has said that the door is open. Can we see this happening?
I would legitimately be interested in seeing it, even now. Yeah Wlad is older but fury has also aged his body prematurely. So if they fought, the result would still be relevant to the discussion
Would Wlad fall for that one again? Last time out Wlad was inactive for 18 months due to Fury's antics, so if he really wants to come back, I doubt it will be against him. I agree with the last 4 options
Wlad never deserved a rematch with Fury. Rematches clauses are bad for boxing. When a champion gets totally taken to school by a challenger, he needs to get back in line and earn a shot. Of course, if the fight was close or competitive, a champion can have his rematch. Otherwise, it's a waste of time.
