Actually been what woke him up? For all the damage it's been known to do it's certainly seemed to save some fighters as well. I've heard Holmes might of woke up as he hit the canvas against Shaver's. Luan Krasniqi when he was hit by that hook from Brewster. What others?
He slumped down on his ass from that hook, didn't he? I don't remember him being laid out on his back...
Ruddock against Morrison is an often-quoted one. Usually it's your head bouncing hard off the canvas that guarantees a knockout, that double impact. But I guess if you're already out on the way down it can help! Grant looked out cold when he faceplanted from the last Guinn knockdown, but managed to wobble up by 8. Still rightly stopped, though.
I'm willing to quote that one too. When Ruddock goes down off the left hook, when you watch it in the slow motion replay you can see he's out. His entire body is boneless. After he hits the canvas, he's somehow able to get up and last almost to the end of the round.
Yup but it didnt wake him up **** its probablly what put him to sleep his head was several inches of the canvas when it bounced up. Tarvers left hand KO over Jones probablly put him to sleep and that mat probablly woke Jones up there come to think of it.
Evander Holyfield vs Adilson Rodriguez, 1989. Holy decked him with a flush right hand, and Rodriquez was laid out flat on his back, with his head bouncing off the canvas.
The hardest I've seen is when Dick Tiger got KO'd by Bob Foster. Tiger was probably out before he hit the canvas but the back of his head bounced of the canvas a few times.
Gerry Cooney against George Foreman. Cooney went down face first! Pipino Cuevas against Herman Montes. They both landed simultaneous punches and Cuevas hit the canvas hard with his head & couldn't recover. While Montes himself was very dazed by the Cuevas shot. Bizzare ending!
