1 reply! Hopkins in the lead! Vote! Vote! Vote!

Some of you that are voting haven't looked too deeply into these fighters resume's, if you really do you will see that Jones record is superior.

Yes Jones is my favorite fighter but I honestly believe Jones has the better resume and is obviously the better fighter.

Fighting a 35 year old Winky Wright at a catch weight of 170 pounds, fighting a shot Simon Brown, Oscar at Middleweight and a shot Jones really takes a hit on Hopkins record.

I admit Jones did fight some guys like that as well for instance Vinny Pazienza at Super Middleweight and a 40 year old McCallum at Light Heavyweight. But the difference is that neither one of these fighters are even close to Jones top 10 wins, whereas Winky and Oscar are surely in Hopkins top 10.

Also did I mention that Trinidad, Wright, Aquino, Brown, De La Hoya were all much smaller fighters, that Hopkins beat during his Middleweight reign. Oh yeah and Jones beat the better Antonio Tarver first, coming down from Heavyweight to recapture the Light Heavyweight belt! Oh yeah and another thing Roy Jones beat Bernard Hopkins himself in 1993 when Hopkins was 28 years old for the Middleweight title! Oh yeah and Roy Jones beat P4P #1 or #2 James Toney in 1994 for the Super Middleweight belt! Oh yeah and one last thing I promise, Roy Jones beat John Ruiz for the Heavyweight title! Something then that wasn't achieved in over 100 years!

I can't see any logical explanation as to why Hopkins should rank ahead of Jones, even if he beats Pascal. Yes Hopkins is close to 46 years old and winning the Light Heavyweight title would make history. You have to look at it though, it's Jean Pascal he's facing, with only one win over Dawson that's not a very good achievement in my mind. Maybe Pascal can pick up some good wins after he loses to Hopkins but I highly doubt it. Can someone please post a convincing explanation? Please.

    Nope.

    Jones beat a HW champ.

Jones beat him during their primes.

Jones beat a prime ATG Toney.

Hopkins beating Pascal closes the gap but not enough to surpass Jones.

    He has already passed Jones....

Fought the better competition for one. Was THE Middleweight Champion and THE Light Heavyweight Champion.

Jones was arguably never THE champion in any weightclass he fought in

Jones was NEVER THE Light Heavyweight champion he was a trinket belt collector. Handpicked fights. That is a Fact.

Well Hopkins was never THE Light Heavyweight champion either. Zsolt Erdei is still holding the "real" title...

Well even in that scenario Jones was never the champion at any weight he fought in because he refused to make fights. At least B-Hop was @ Middleweight.

I can't stand BHop and his John Ruiz fighting style and I hope JP kicks his ass I know BHop will make the fight as boring as he can and people will call him a "crafty veteran" on here.:rofl:patsch
