Dawson was too young and inexperienced and overated cause I can see those excuses when that scenerio takes place. So this thread will be pulled back up if that fight comes off in the fall or late winter later on this yr.

Yup, especially when he beats Tarver again cause he's already calling out Hopkins and has a big interest in Hopkins. Even saying things like Hopkins is trying to avoid him.

I agree, that is the only possible and logical fight for Hopkins if Joe doesn't give him a rematch. Dawson will have the opportunity to prove that Hops and Antonio are made of the same blend and he is harder, more precious and made of a better blend than them. In case, it doesn't happen, I guess Chad will have to be forgotten...

after he murders tarver if you think about it dawson has no one left to really make a big fight wit so why not hopkins i think he will do fine against him cuz he is a way better boxer then jermain taylor and he does not get tired and a southpaw

I think Hopkins can beat Dawson and that Dawson is a good fighter but still a little green. I think that those who think Dawson beats Hopkins easily are overrating Bad Chad.

i think this is one old folk dawson cant beat, the fact he is a southpaw is prob a bonus for Hopkins, good fight though like to see it happen.

We'll see. I have a hunch he'll change his mind cause his ego will get the best of him and Dawson is gonna put pressure on him to fight.

We can only hope...Dont get me wrong, I would love to see the fight myself but I think Hopkins is going to fight a bigger name (maybe thats my opinion) because he wants to leave on a high note.

Easily? No. But outwork the older Hopkins to a close UD win? Yes. It will be similiar to the Taylor fights. Hopkins being weary of Dawson's hand speed and simply being outworked.

And you know what, it could be TRUE that Hopkins is avoiding him. But can you blame him? Hopkins has said a few times that he's no longer interested in ruining the careers of young, up and coming fighters. That pretty saids Dawson to me.

Hopkins needs to settle the score with Jermain Taylor after JT starches Froch for a fall showdown.

I agree with the bold...but the only thing that might damper the fight is the weight...Which weight will this fight take place at....I sure as hell wouldnt mind see it though.

Hopkins is unbeatable at 170. :good Force JT to come up a couple of lbs. But i don't know if JT wants Hopkins or even NEEDS Hopkins at this point. He's already beaten him twice. Why risk ruining your upstart at SMW? The money will be nice but he will be able to get good fights and money at SMW for years as long as he keeps on winning. I'm sure Hopkins is dying to avenge Taylor but i don't think JT will be THAT interested given the circumstances.
