The idea of the thread is to share opinions and thoughts you had about the game that you now look upon and think, "I knew **** all".

...I used to think it was Roy Jones Jr who held two victories over Marco Antonio Barrera.

    ...Who's next?

When I was about 11 I thought Jeff Fenech would beat Mike Tyson on points in a 3 round fight because he was smaller and quicker.

 Jeff would have gotten him by the third, anyone who takes it to Tyson wins.

At least you only got Roy Jones Jnr and Junior Jones mixed up which is understandable for a young bloke just getting into boxing.

What the **** I was thinking favouring Fenech over Iron Mike I don't know.Tyson looked like a wrecking ball whereas Jeff looked like an under fed adolescent.

    Dumb.:patsch

I used to think Julio Cesar Chavez was a unskilled slugger. That one's a little less forgiving.

I thought Ray Leonard would knock out Napoles after looking at Napoles Boxrec And seeing he'd been 'stopped' a few times

I now go by footage and/or articles only, and use Boxrec only if I forget someones name. I see no way of gaining knowledge through that thing.

I used to think 'old timers' were just tough, and that there was a mythical cut off point where 'real' technique started :rofl

    Ditto.

I used to think no one could fight before Jack Dempsey, based on watching Jack Johnson fight (Surprise surprise some fighters were boring back then as well).

By the way did you get around to looking at Owen Moran-Battling Nelson on youtube? (It was you I recomended it to wasn't it?)

Moran looked the goods on film in that one.
