Was in the Condes fight? If so, I agree he looked sensational. I've been saying for a few months now he will beat Roman Gonzalez.
Greg really knows his stuff, might not know every tidbit of info/trivia/date etc etc (like myself) but knows how to apply his knowledge, certainly one of my favourite posters.
YEy thats why i gave him a:good But ive been a hardcore fan for over 30 years and occasionly i still learn stuff. About 20 years ago i thought i learned everything there is to know, but i was wrong.
Thanks Thanks Im terrible with dates etc... I dont really like posting if I dont know the topic, hence why im never on a Heavyweight thread. And my actual english lets me down. I've only really been into boxing about 2 years I still have heaps I can learn.
I used to think that you were supposed to score fights on clean punching, technique and defence..... rather than coming forward and windmilling. :-(
I didn't know **** all about the sport until about '07 when I found this place. I heard about Danny Williams beating Tyson on the news in 2004 and I thought that made him the best fighter in the world.
I'll be honest, I thought he was very decent. A waste of talent because he did literally **** all, not even win a world title. I think he could of beaten Davey Moore and got to the point where he could of mixed it up with Leonard/Duran/Hearns etc, but not in a million years would I expect him to beat any of those. He'd get his arse handed to him ten-times over.
Yeah i remember this too, when he lost I was in shock....and after watching ''The Little Prince, The Big Fight'' I was gutted for ages and was pissed at Barrera
Well I'm 17 so I would of only been about 12 back then. Being truly honest aswell, Amir Khan was a big factor in me actually getting into boxing. I watched it all at the Olympics and was interested in watching him fight and seeing how he'd do as a pro, so I basically started watching in '05 casually, then didn't really become a fanatic until I found this place.
im not gonna say hed beat them, but he would not get his ass handed to him like you say, he is someone you couldnt count out against anyone. I would not lable him as a great fighter by any means as he never was able to accomplish much, but HTH hed be be competetive with anyone, although i suspect a guy like Leonard or Benitez wouldnt have as much trouble beating him as others might have.
I don't give a damn..... He mouthed off first and I finished it...... I don't play games with folks trying to sell me bull****......... I care less who likes or craves Tony Ayala, that is up to the individual... But regardless if T.A. showed promise or not as a kid, he is nowhere near a great fighter nor did he ever fight a great fighter / fight..... As a person, T.A. is an ******* to the max and lives where he belongs---Prison.... 'Nuff said there........ bbb MR.BILL
