Those seem to be the 3 names which means it's been since 2003 that Pacquiao has beaten a top prime fighter if Barrera can be considered prime then.

My inkling of your feeling towards Pac derives from your continuous criticisms of him. As far as the similarities, I've already stated them. They're obviously not the same fighter and have many differences but their similarities are also apparent.

They're southpaws and aggressive but very different for the most part.

My interest is in the basis of the question. Why are you asking it? Why are you singling out Pac? Why aren't you asking it with respect to your favorite fighter Valero when he has apparent similarities to Pac?

I did not say the fighters you mentioned were not, I was just asking. You usually act less combative than this. I am surprised.

Never said Valero was my favorite fighter, not to mention I've done this very same thing with some of my favorite fighters so I am not singling out Pac.

Yeah, to be fair, if someone made the exact same thread about Valero you wouldn't have an answer, so when people respond like this about Pac you shouldn't be surprised JEff.

Although I have tried to give you an answer and not be an ass, I'm just saying, put yourself in that position and imagine what you would post if someone did this thread; 'When, if ever has Valero beaten a top fighter in their prime convincingly?'

Unlike Pac, the answer would be a simple 'No' (at the present time)

jeff, i have no idea how many times i'll have to say this how many different ways, i am not a manny pacquiao fan. i think manny is massively overrated and has pulled something of a rocky marciano in picking off aged legends. manny has some good wins, but there were certainly tougher fights to take than the ones he took. i think manny is an excellent and tough fighter, but certainly his claim to the pound for pound throne is questionable. i don't particularly care for valero or pacquiao...however, it seems that those two are the only fighters who are currency in coversations here...which is a damn shame in a world of many first rate fighters i'd rather watch. i don't particularly dislike manny or valero. i just don't think either one is all their pumpers and humpers make them out to be...like some second coming of boxing gods.

if manny beats hatton...it's simple hatton has been slowing down for years. he did not fight floyd mayweather tight until the knockout. ricky's holding and hitting in the early rounds was about all he had going for him. he lost most every second of the fight and then was ko'd to punctuate the loss. ricky's hard partying lifestyle, terrible habit of blowing up between fights and face-forward style has aged him well beyond his years. ricky himself has said he wants, maybe, only a few more fights and then is looking to retire. he, clearly is not in his prime. ricky is a good fighter, but, come on, it's all smoke and mirrors...he looked the boxer against paulie because paulie has no punch and has been gunshy ever since cotto put such a fierce beating on him. if manny beats hatton it will demonstrate again that manny is an excellent fighter, but a better opportunist...like most top fighters, for that matter.
