how was Hatton not in his prime?

He's the same age as Pacquiao. He fought at his optimal weight. He tried to do the same thing which he has done with every fighter he's fought.

the guy got destroyed CONVINCINGLY in the 1st two rounds. If Jeff M wasn't impressed with that performance, then he's a ****in idiot.

I guess Barrera I is acceptable maybe (even though he'd already had 60 fights!) and hopefully no, Cotto won't be a name that can be added. Cotto is prime in some ways, but may have suffered lasting damage from the Cheat! Hopefully it doesn't affect him against Pac!

I was impressed with the performance, but it doesn't mean Hatton was prime or a truly top tier fighter.

Had two chances against JMM and scored 4 KD's but failed to do so, since he lost 75% of the rounds!

I said this was the case before the fight was ever made. It's not an excuse when I think it's a fact, before the fact.

Wow Jeff this thread has done great :thumbsup

Lookin at the most recent posts....

Cotto - now a very different fighter from pre Margarito. Has Margarito ruined him? Very possibly

Hatton - Peaked Tszyu then been on the slide ever since. Severe beatings from Collazo and Mayweather took a lot from the already sliding Hitman

Barrera was the last - some would say ONLY time pac has convincingly beat a true top tier prime fighter

If Pac wins against Cotto, he gets much more credit from me than he did by beating Hatton and ODLH. It would be a much better win, even if Cotto is only 85% of what he was. I expected Pac to beat the other two. This fight is closer to 50/50 for me to pick.

If it wasn't against Barrera, then he's never done it.

Is Cotto a prime or a truly top tier fighter?

He's only got 1 loss and he's 28 years old.

hypothetically what if PBF loses to Marquez and PBF still fights Pac. Let's say Pac beats his ass convincingly next year..

was PBF in his prime and a top tier fighter after being out of boxing for 2 years?

how did you work-out that cotto has only 85% of what he was? is there a formula in this one or you just estimated it? what if cotto wins against pac spectacularly and proceeded to beat floyd after, is cotto back to 100% of what he used to be?
