Pay attention NOOB! I already said he gets more credit for Cotto if he wins than he did ODLH or Hatton, even if Cotto is not quite 100% of what he used to be.

    Jeff M, answer this post.

and for the millionth time give us that criteria of top fighters in their primes and a few examples of fighters who have "beaten top fighters in their prime convincingly". using your criteria we can finally answer your question.:dead:dead

I really have no idea what your agenda is other than you act like you're very obsessed with me, which I find very disturbing. :blood

It's subjective. If Pac can beat Floyd, it's indisputable he's done what I am asking. It would also be better since Pac has only looked good against one style of fighter. That's another issue, because for me, the best fighters have the ability to adapt.

Hell, even if Pac convincingly beats JMM, even now, I would consider it a great achievement. See, JMM is not that far from prime, even at 36 yrs, but then you have fighters like Morales and Barrera who were well past their best at a much younger age. Age doesn't always mean a fighter is past their prime. It's only one element of the equation.

    Forrest beating Shane
    Winky beating Shane
    B-hop beating Tito
    Floyd beating Corrales

These are just a few examples.........

I said it was still a very good win. I look at it this way. Cotto is bigger and more powerful, but more damaged, so it kind of evens out.

it's subjective (aka. i don't have a clear criteria for what i'm asking for).

because subjectively, the top fighters pac has beaten convincingly in their primes are:

mab1 (the man at featherweight, #3p4p)
hatton (the man at 140, 2-division champion, only 1 loss to then p4p#1 moving up in weight)
    sasakul (the man at flyweight)
diaz (lightweight titleholder - yes, yes you don't think much of diaz, but you don't become a titleholder unless you're a "top fighter". otherwise, ****, i'm quitting my job and going for an alphabet belt)

that's not too bad a list.

Okay, it's you're opinion, but come on, you know with all the titles out there some pretty poor champions exists these days. Hatton never impressed me. He beat Tszyu and that was the big thing he's known for (a very inactive and past prime Tszyu) and look at that fight! LOL He got starched by Floyd and I still maintain since it happened he could not handle it mentally. I understand Pac did everything right against him, but he brought nothing into the fight.

Pac beating barrera and JMM are the closest he has ever come to beating fighters in their primes...this is a loaded question...even a Morales, Barrera, JMM, Hatton, DLH; prime or not, are still impressive victories.

Pac has become a complete fighter...we should be focusing on how he plans on cementing his legacy as an ATG.

I'm going to be lazy and annoying by probably saying something that's been debated in this thread a lot, but I'm going through 57 pages.

Simply put: I consider the 2003 Barrera prime, as he continued to fight at that championship level for a few years after that dominating Pacquiao win. Distraction excuses are just that: excuses. There's always some way to criticize a win.

Most people seem to go with the first Barrera win (even though Barrera already had 60 fights).

Barrera, but he had his issues prior to the fight, those california wildfires and cluster of malformed blood vessels in his head, seriously messed with him.

    That's right...good point!:good

He did have the issue with his head. But, I still don't see that fight playing out any other way...Barrera had just signed a huge deal with Golden Boy and was their poster boy...Goldie hade expected great things from Barrera and was shocked to learn that the Pacmonster was the real deal!! I feel that Barrera overlooked Pac's power and overall toughness.
