When, if ever has Pacquiao beaten a top fighter in their prime convincingly?

I would answer the question and why without bringing up other fighters. I'm trying to gage where Pacquiao really is in history right now, not degrade him. As I said, if he beats Hatton it's a step forward then one more big win over a top prime fighter and he will cement his legacy.

    hmm says...
    you can add
Oscar Larios - two-time super bantamweight champion who had moved up two weight divisions in order to face Pacquiao (prime but not elite but still a top fighter/ contender at the time)
Jorge Solis - was the number #4 contender and a Mexican champ that replaced MAB. (top but not elite but was in prime)

    His legacy is already cemented.

What are your opinions of Ray Leonard?

Okay. I have said Hatton is no where near his best which was overrated anyway but it will be a better win for Pacquiao than his recent fights perhaps but a Pac fan does not want to hear this. I will get the logic from many of them that if Pac KO's Hatton quicker than Floyd it means he is better than Floyd and this is also what some of them say about ODLH which to me is so illogical. Pacquiao is fighting like two or three more times. Valero has just become able to start moving forward and plans on fighting as long as he can so we will see with him but I see much more potential in him than I ever saw in Pacquiao, not to say Pacquiao has not improved.

I find the longer some fighters have been gone, the more overrated they become out of nostalgia I think. He is an ATG though and had Hearns, Duran, and Hagler in his era and has wins over them all. He has to be best of the four, but imo PBF is as good or better, but lacks the resume to show it! Leonard would not be one of the overrated fighters from the past though.

He should have never lost to Duran but let Duran get to him psychologically, but otherwise would have no losses against the other big three of the era!

He really could be undefeated easy as the Duran fight was a bad mistake which of course he rectified but the other 2 losses are irrelevant.

Look them up and you'll know that those two were not just some low level boxers. He never clearly beat JMM during their 2nd fight. He clearly won the first.
