When, if ever has Pacquiao beaten a top fighter in their prime convincingly?

I'm just asking, as, bar Hearns, his best wins were against weight-strugglers/past-prime/never was's etc etc etc

What you're accusing Pac of, or indeed trying to instigate others to say for your own satisfaction. I'm not disputing Leonard's greatness at all, wondering what you thought as the same rules apply to Pac.

Again, not being a dick buddy, just trying to put this thread into perspective. Thought I'd use a different example rather than the usual 'nuthugger' bull****.

Also, Ray is Floyd times 10

I'm glad he knocked out Floyd's daddy cause he gets on my nerves and is an overrated trainer.

never thought i might say this, but i actually pretty much completely agree with you. i know i have more reservations that you do about valero, but i just want to see him get to it. i thought he would struggle with the haggard remains of pitalua more than he did. i certainly didn't expect him to walk through him like he did. and, now, very likely fighting prescott in the near future, he might actually end up in with top fighters in the next year. i still have questions, but i am perfectly willing to be totally wrong about the kid, which, i admit, i have been thus far.

the trouble with manny starting his career so early and in such an uncontrolled, unfocused way was that he didn't get on an accelerated learning curve with freddie roach and clean up his lifestyle until he already had 40+ hard fights on his tires. i still think he will beat hatton, but primarily because hatton, i think, will really struggle with the combination of quick feet and decent 140 lb. power thrown at him out of a southpaw stance that favors the straight lefthand lead. hatton, i think, will do most of the damage himself by not knowing how to get started against manny's circular bobbing and weaving and darting in.

it is absurd, and i have said this before that manny's win over oscar, impressive as it was, and it was impressive, did nothing to indicate that manny belongs at 147 or even 140 pounds. beating oscar de la hoya at 147 is anything but an indication that he could challenge the better welterweights out there. the de la hoya fight was a thing unto itself. beating ricky hatton at 140 might be very much the same thing...even if his style and southpaw stance gives ricky fits, i still wouldn't think manny belongs in the ring with ricardo torres or kendall holt, not world beaters, but real, fierce 140-pounders who don't have a style tailor-made to be unraveled by pacman.

Okay, imagine Pac against other ATG's his size, prime-for-prime and the do the same with Leonard. Now who does better? It's not Pac!

First Pac is 10x Valero, now Leonard is 10x Floyd? You cannot be serious!:patsch

Leonard and Pac have similar structures to their resumes; that's what I'm trying to point out.

Even at that, resumes aside, eyes tell a different story.

Yeah, and most would agree. You think Floyd could hang with Ray? Hell, you think Floyd could hang with any of the best of his divisions, i.e Arguello at 130, Duran @ 135 and Pryor at 140 :patsch

Resume alone cannot determine who's the better fighter. They matter but just not the only thing that counts.

Yes and much better than Pac would with the best ever in his divisions!

I never dislike any great fighter i've known in my life, just appreciating..i love the sport and i can call my self a true boxing fan and a MAN..

but these bunch of power puffs keep saying that they are boxing fanatics, yet they still make these threads where the intention is obviously downgrading..

guess everyone has a role eh..
