Yup. Spence is going to get brutalized in the rematch. He will get knocked out even faster.

Rematch clauses are hurting the sport overall.
Rematches should happen only because the fight was so goo the fans want to see it again, not because someone lost, or because of greedy contracts. If a fighter loses a one sided fight and wants a rematch, they need to work their way back up to it. Rematch clauses are preventing bigger and better fights from happening.

I wouldn't say Joshua's backfired. He did better.

Joyce could fight Zhang as many times as he liked and lose every time. Should have just taken the first loss and moved on.

IMO, the two greatest immediate rematch disasters happened to the men who had won the first fight: Roberto Duran / Sugar Ray Leonard and Roy Jones Jr / Antonio Tarver.
To Duran’s shame, the term “No mas” not only overshadowed one of the greatest victories in boxing history 6 months prior, but it has become a catch phrase for “I quit” that many people know - even if they don’t know where the term originated.
And sadly for Roy, he went from being considered one of, if not the, greatest fighters in history to being a parody and then a tragedy…all because of one single Hail Mary left hand thrown by an annoying underachiever with his eyes closed
