But how is he champion? Beating Hopkins who got his belts from Shumenov and Cloud and beating Cleverly who got his belt gift wrapped.

Cloud got his belt gift wrapped.

Shumenov got his belt from Campillo who got it from Garay who got it gift wrapped.

Whilst I respect unification fights all of these are paper belts and everyone following the sport knows it.

When Hopkins and Pascal fought a second time there were clearly the best two in the division. The winner of that was a deserved champion. Hopkins lost to Dawson who thus became a deserved champion. Dawson lost to Stevenson who thus became a deserved champion.

So don't give me this bs about holding Kovalev to a higher standard as all of his belts are from paper claims. Stevenson is the divisional champion until he loses or retires. He's the one with historical significance. He's the one who should be defending against the best available opposition.

Kovalev has unified the other claims and solidified his status as the best available opponent. But don't go saying he's the #1 unified champion. In reality he's just the best available contender. Just so happens he's a contender I would favour to beat Stevenson.

Did you run out of arguments? Hard to defend a fraud like Stevenson who only wants to fight overmatched opponents while Krusher will take on Andre Ward.

Thats always what happens when you lose a purse bid. You can't use that as an excuse to get out of a fight.

whilst Clev was an obvious paper champ who shouldda stayed at euro title level, the Hopkins win was good for a good reason.

That being Hopkins in his 40s had the ability to outbox elites for short periods even when his gass was no longer intact for 12 rounds. BUT KRUSHER OUTCLASSED HIM FOR ALMOST THE ENTIRE FIGHT. This is something that inferior boxers like Cowardzaghe could not manage.
