We're not the ones in there taking punches. Imagine if g-man swallowed his pride and conceded defeat, he would be living a normal life, instead of a nightmare.
if a fighter feels their health is in danger, i have no issue with them giving up. I would never want someone to live the rest of their life with severe brain damage for my entertainment.

Exactly, it's called prizefighting, if you don't fight you shouldn't get a prize...... Quitting means you can walk away health intact, just don't expect to be remunerated for your efforts.

It's up to the consumer to decide if they want to spend their time and money on watching a particular fight or fighter. If they're offended or feel cheated by what they deem an early quit job then they can choose to not continue to support them in the future. Simple as that.

If I have one chance of my haymaker changing the fight, I keep going. If someone else realises they're not going to win, they quit. Every person has a limit.

Briggs said "My wife was in the audience. I could never quit in front of her." So he let Vitali beat him into hospital.

While it is certainly unfashionable to quit in a "MANS SPORTS GRAHHHH" a professional boxer can quit any time he wants, it's his health on the line (although he must give SOME kind of effort considering people pay hard earned money to watch them fight)

We all like to think so but how many left hooks have you taken from Miguel Cotto?

I'm probably a minority, but I've been in the ring before. I'd rather see a fighter quit than watch a person get beat into a vegetable. Geale was done by the 4th. Why stand up and take that one more blow that floors you and puts you in hospital when you already know you're done.

I have no ill wishes for any boxer, and I want every one of them to return home to their families safe and sound after the fight.

People get so caught up in the drama, it's like it's the WWE, they hate other fighters, call them bums, mock them for having no heart, etc. They've trained and dedicated their lives to fighting for you guys, from Pacquiao to Mayweather, to Tyson to Buster Douglas. Honestly, I box as a hobby and I feel like it's a massive part of my life. I can't imagine what it would be like for guys like Geale, who it is his entire life. To have to make the decision to quit in front of millions of people, knowing that doing so is basically an end to his career and all that he's ever really known and done.

Honestly. I'd love for every person on here to take a step back and realise this isn't the WWE. Go ram your head as hard as you can into a desk and tell me how it feels before you ever claim a world class boxer has no heart.

But people won't ever comprehend how it is to be in a ring until they've been inside one.

They'll continue mocking men who're far far far above them.

it's a personal choice. in the world of entertainment, those who sacrifice them selves more deserve higher honors. let not money buy great sacrifices. fans just pay to get the entertainment they deserve and appreciate the greatness of men.

Well before the fight a fighter will have a gameplan or some thoughts on how to box the opponent certain tactics or any weaknesses they think they may be able to expose from their opponent. If you try your gameplan and your tactics and it all fails and nothing you try is working and you dont see any way you will be able to expose or find or take advantage of any weakess in your opponent in the next few rounds then theres no point contiuing and getting battered.

What I dont appreciate though is boxers who are completely shot but they run their mouth off before a fight claiming they will provide a great fight when thy know inside that they wont and then on fight night they utterly Fail. Fraudley harrison comes to mind and recently Anthony Joshuas opponent cant remember his name.
