What great boxers? How would boxer who begins training in his 20's be able to compete with Golden Glove champs and Amateur champs with 100+ wins who have been boxing since they were pre-teens???? Explain this please. And then explain why a boxer could do it, but a wreslter couldn't. Try not to contradict yourself. Good luck :nut
A boxer or a wreslter could do it, but I think most people would want to see a single match before picking him over the undefeated national champion.
It's never too late to start training. As long as your body can handle the rigors of training and fighting - then go for it. You;re not even in your prime yet. 19 years old is when you have the whole world ahead of you. If you train diligently, you'll do just fine. Unfortunately, there's always that one guy that has been training since he as four - and he will most likely beat you when you first meet - so just take it in stride and stay dedicated. Anything is possible. If I remember correctly, Frank Shamrock only had a year of cross training with the Lion's Den before he began competing in Pancrase.
I agree with the consensus that its never too late. Especially because unless you plan on making a living out of this, whats the worst that can happen? It beats playing basketball at the Y even if you suck.
Yeah....good answer :nut Who has done it from boxing? You said GREAT boxers. Who were they? In your 20's, I'm sure you have to hold a job to support yourself, in most cases at least. I know Calvin Brock did it. Not 24/7 though. genious? atsch Don't get mad.
You are being a little more logical then Widdow was. He straight out stated GSP would have NO CHANCE IN HELL. No matter what. He said Kos has been doing it so long he could wrestle with his eyes closed :nut That he used to wrestle and coaches wrestle and I'm ignorant :nut :nut
:rofl You're so stomped its not funny... ok how about Marciano? One of the greatest boxers of ALL time? Yea, when I say 24-7 i literally mean he was boxing twenty four hours seven days a week. AHAHA... Listen bro, you're just ridiculous :happy.
Yeah I say go for it Iron Duke. I turn 26 years old tomorrow and I will be joining BJJ soon, and then I will try to compete eventually. I was in boxing for years and I took that quite seriously but I stopped once I was 19, so basically I got to start from scratch. I wiegh 237 pounds right now, and I used to fight at about 171 pounds, man I got my work cut out for me.
How is that ridiculous to say??? I said Calvin Brock started late....and didn't do it 24/7 and he's had success. How is anything I said ridiculous. You love to insult dont you. I'm "ridiculous" I'm "ignorant" . The point here is that boxers can start after 20yrs old and have success against much more experienced guys ONLY if they do it 24/7. That just isn't true :deal Get your ****ing facts straight clown. Just because Marciano "literally boxed 24/7 AHAHA...." doesn't mean ****! Name some other great boxers who started after 20yrs old. Did they all have the liberty of dedicating their entire life to it? NO! especially not nowadays because you cannot support yourself on it when you start out, so you have to do it while maintaining a full time job.....believe me I know. I fight and work, do you? I didn't think so atsch
Ooops. You're right I don't. I work, train, and go to school, fightin I do on the side when people talk **** at the club. With bull**** you've been arguing for past few days I highly doubt you do any combat sport so I'll take that with a grain of salt the size of a brick. Anyways, listen, Marciano training most of his time means everything. Thats what people do to become great at what they do. Do you think BJ penn got black belt by training half an hour a day? But i digress. If GSP would've trained exclusively in wrestling he could have been great because he's a great athlete. Mayweather could be great at MMA if he exclusively trains for MMA because he is a great athlete. If GSP jumps into a wrestling match with someone of note(like Kos) he will not win. It's that simple. Tell me something, did those olympic level wrestlers say that he beats them? Did you see a real scored match with GSP wrestling against those guys? You're basing your opinion on something VERY ambiguous. My couch told me I could play for Russian national soccer team. I had the talent. But does that mean that on the day he said that I would go out in the world cup and play for Russia? Umm no.
There you go with the insults again....what are you lie 15 years old atsch atsch atsch Why is it bull****, because you don't agree? Waaaaaah! Waaaaah! He thinks GSP could compete with Kos in a wrestling match! Waaaaah! :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl Goooooo **** YOURSELF! :good
Whats original? You're attempts to discredit my opinions by claiming that I have no experience in combat sports and to revert to insulting a guy you have never met before on the internet when you can't get him to agree with you? atsch Yeah, I thought so too. Wait no I didn't, thats what everyone does when they get heated and buried in their own bull**** :good I think GSP would toss around a prime Aleksander Karelin like a rag doll :think He would also beat Lebron James in 1-on-1, and would quarterback the NY Giants to a victory this Sunday if given the chance :deal Does that make you angry as well? Does that make you want to attack me personally? Ease up bro, calm down. Its just the internet. I think based on the evidence I've seen that GSP could/would be competitive with Kos in a wrestling match. You don't. Do I call you ignorant or pretend to know your history because of this? NO. :huh
