Louis would blow Dempsey's doors right off their frame, such a better boxer with better two-handed power and better composure.

Dempsey is colossally overrated. He rode a hype machine to a supposed pinnacle, faced lesser opponents and sat on his ass for 3 years. Call me underwhelmed when comparing him to the like of Louis.

In a sense Joe Louis made the Heavyweight Championship even bigger because he had it. The man made the belt.

Louis is above Marciano and Dempsey as a champion. It's unquestionable.

Dempsey was a superstar where as Rocky was merely unconventionally great.

I can still see an argument for all three being on the highest level so far as being hard to beat at their best. These kinds of fighters never exist at the same time so it's impossible to say with any clarity that either of them is destroying the other.

Who hit hardest? All three hit too hard, they hit guys about as hard as they can be hit. When it comes to hitting Unnecessarily hard, and all three qualify, how or why can you differentiate?

I think Louis' chances increase dramatically the longer the fight goes, but I see Dempsey's ferocious onslaught getting Joe out of there inside a couple of rounds.

Louis and Dempsey are my favorite fighters along with Frazier...heavyweights that is....the Dempsey of Toledo was according to arcel unbeatable..i strongly agree with the genius arcel....as far as louis skill superiority i watch the more distant view of Dempsey vs Willard and see excellent balance and footwork there along with feints etc...in some areas Dempsey was more skilled...of interest here may be granland rices ringside report from July 5...rocky was rocky and boy could he tag....thanks

    Name your favourite - Louis

Who was the hardest hitting of the three? Tough but I go with Louis. He hit fast, hard and accurate. All 3 together trump Dempsey and Rocky's probably harder single shots.

Who was the complete package? Louis.

Who was the most underrated? Dempsey.

Who is the king of the trio? Louis.
