Ummm, even if he beats Bute and Dirrell, im not sure if he eclipses Mayweather just yet. He should be above Martinez and Pacquiao. If he also goes and cleans up the LH, then yes, he would be considered #1 P4P by all...

Ward will never rate ahead of Pacquiao or Mayweather all-time. I'm a believer that he's better than either one in their current states, though.

Only when/if he(Ward) moves up or down in weight, and wins.

Because the competition at 168-175 is really poor. We're smack dab in perhaps the worst era in history.

He may be.. time will tell.

He does have the mind and the tools... but we will see.

Currently you could make a case for him on the P4P list even ahead of both, but all-time they are still ahead of Ward.

I'm sorry, did you just say the competition at 168 is poor? SMW has been one of the most stacked divisions for a couple years now. Just because Ward has already beaten almost everyone there is (rather easily) doesn't suddenly make the division poor.

I will not argue about 175, because honestly there is not much there for Andre to go up to.

    Wrong.

168 has certainly never been stronger. It used to be a division that people skipped because it was so new. Then the UK got a champ and it gained some legitimacy in the UK.. so UK fighters started competing there. And the 168 title basically was a UK title.

Slowly more and more countries embrazed 168 and today it is a VERY strogn division (and we see wheneven fighters from other divisions try to mix it with the 168ers... look at Abraham. Dominant at 160... spanked by the 168ers... Dawson.. dominant at 175, spanked by 168ers. Pascal.... a top dog at 175, spanked by 168ers. Green does ok at 175.. spanked by 168ers. Johnson.. etc.

And so on. Very strong division. In fact the strongest ever.

175 has been weak for many years with only Adamek and Dawson.. and this Australian guy... Briggs.. Then Hopkins joined the mix, Pascal, Dawson still there and so on. Now it is an interesting division again.

Right now I don't see how you don't at least consider Ward number one pound for pound. He's has fought a tremendous resume, DOMINATED every fight, and has displayed the ability to fight different styles.

Pound for pound match up wise you would have to favor him over Mayweather and Pac.

20 years from now..at best, he will be remembered on the same level as Michael Spinks.
