And who is Mayweather's best win? A past prime De La Hoya himself?

Whitaker, Chavez X2 are better wins than anything on Mayweather's resume. :deal

Well if you don't know your boxing or weren't following it during that time then yeah, I can see why you would say that. Whitaker turned in an excellent, turn back the clock performance against Oscar but he was already a faded fighter at that point. He had been dropped twice by Dioblys Hurtado of all people in his previous bout and needed a miracle KO because he was well, well behind on the cards. Prior to that he needed two tries to beat Wilfredo Rivera--which should tell you all about where Whitaker was at this point. So if you were blown away by that win then more power to you.

Repeat with Chavez. The rematch was a joke BTW.

    Corrales
    Castillo
    Cotto
    Hatton
    Genaro
    Marquez
    Mosley

All have cases for being better wins for Mayweather than over Oscar. Top 5 and maybe 6 are, in my opinion.

You must be one of those people who rate Mike Tyson as Lennox Lewis' best win if you think so highly about Oscar over Chavez II.

    ODLH > FMJ

    Chavez > Castillo
    Vargas > Cotto
    Quartey > Hatton
    Whitaker > Marquez
    Roided Mosley > Shot Mosley
Undefeated Genaro > Closed to retired Genaro

    :-((

-When MAYWEATHER fought Cotto, Cotto had gotten a controversial win over Clottey and had been KTFO by Margarito and Pacquiao in brutal fashion.

-When Mayweather fought Mosley, Mosley had one good fight against Margarito and thats it, and Mosley was likely on the juice. Prior to the Mragarito fight Mosley wasn't even a champion, had a hell of a hard time with a shot Mayorga, and hasn't done anything since Mayweather but get his ass handed by little Pacquiao.

-When Mayweather fought ODLH, Oscar was 2-2 in his last 4 fights.

    Pretty dang impressive eh? :patsch

Vargas was the Jr. MW champion, 1 bad loss to ATG Trinidad, but made up for it coming in JUICED to the T! :deal Vargas was a monster fight night and showed to have his reflexes and skills intact, Oscar was just that much better.

Whitaker was the true reigning WW Champion and top 3 P4P fighter.

    Play again. :hi:

    Chavez I = Castillo II

    Chavez II < Hatton

    Vargas < Corrales

questionable decision vs. Quartey < questionable decision vs. Castillo I

    Whitaker > Marquez

    L to Mosley in a war < W over Mosley in a 119-109 fight

no accomplishment LW Genaro < undefeated, lineal champion @ SFW Genaro

Now what if we continued this trend for each of their 15 best wins?

    Floyd's resume >>>>>>>>>>> Oscar's resume

Unless L's mean the same as W's, in which case Zack Page and Ross Purrity have serious claims of being ATG's.

    EDIT:

Sorry I just can't be that generous to Oscar.

    Change:
    Whitaker > JMM
    to
questionable decision over Whitaker = 120-107 victory over JMM

Good thing I didn't list those as his best wins. But since you listed a similar scenario for Oscar, I guess we can discredit those.

No, he never "made up for it." He was never the same.

Your reason for Whitaker is dumb. Mosley was the true welter king when Floyd fought him and top 3 pound for pound.

Floyd got Oscar on his resume. That's the end game. All that being said, just comparing the two fighters skills, there is no doubt that Mayweather is better fighter and will go down in history as the better fighter.

The problem with FMJ is not the he isnt talented. He isnt some buzzsaw wrecking machine. he is a safety (my health comes first) fighter. He doesnt fight for legacy but rather fights for the most easiest money. FFS his moniker is Money yet his fans base his accomplishments on hypothetical imperatives.

You do know that was a title eliminator bout right? In other words, had to be fought to get a shot at the WBC title?

Just checking...And you can also thank your man Bob Arum for the bout, Mayweather was a Top Rank employee at the time.
