Wlad will be considered one of the greatest HW champions ever !!

He will have over 70 pro victories ...

20 title fights and probably as many defenses ...

he will have beaten every quality fighter of his era with no exceptions ... no one's going to duck the potential payday they can have fighting him.

5 undefeated fighters out of his last 10 bouts ... and it will be another (Povetkin) this coming fall.

This guy makes all of his competition look back even though he's stopping world class fighters ...

    Thoughts?

thoughts? I think your getting ahead of yourself here buddy..... I know its looks like wlad is head and shoulders(literally) above the comp at heavy, but his chin will always be that X-factor. As long as hes fighting a big puncher, I will always be worried. LoL, somtimes when wlad fights, i get nervous when the dude closes the gap and starts throwing. I see wlads worried face and im like, oh no not again :patsch

I think if he carries on like this people will have to acknowledge he is at the least in the lower echelon of greats. Simply because he's cleaning out all the fighters in his era. Some might see it as weak, but he's doing what he gotta to do, and on consistency and defences he will be recognised.

He could do with unifying the division for historical purposes but I suppose his brother is going to get in the way with that.

Personally I'd like to see him beat Valuev, Povetkin, Haye and maybe Dimitrenko if he keeps progressing. Then I would be happy to call him a great.

I think if Wlad keeps building on his streak, he will go down along side some of the greats.
Unfortunately for him, he has no other great fighter to test himself against. He'll have to achieve greatness through quantity over quality. The lack of competition, and his three losses to, let's be honest, lousy fighters, will prevent him from reaching the upper levels of the ATG list; but if he keeps winning for another couple of years, he's definitely going to be among the greats.

You talk like this is the golden age of the HW division. Face the facts mate, Wlad is one of the best of a very poor bunch. Could you imagine if Wlad was a welterweight and fought like he does at HW? He wouldn't even be a titlist, IMO.

He wont be remembered in high regard, probably due to the division being total **** despite him dominating it.

funny how people rave about tyson yet everytime that guy fought the elite he came unstuck, everytime!!

his era was just as bad as it is now in america, the difference being the talent lies in eastern europe now not in the states (hence it is instantly dismissed by the american fans) tyson never had those boys to contend with, that guys over rated as **** not wlad, yes he was a spectacle in his short lived prime but thats all he was.

on purist terms the brothers are working there way up the the tree without a doubt, but they will never surpass someone like i.e ali simply because those guys represented more than just the sport like the political and historical connotations etc, regardless of that the brothers should recieve more respect than has been forthcoming to them without a doubt, both would be more than a handfull for any heavyweight throughout history, on pure ability i rate them with the best yes,and their records speak for themselves.

"regardless of that the brothers should recieve more respect than has been forthcoming to them without a doubt"

Agree with that, but to suggest the division is as talented now as it was in Tysons era is just ludicrous

he is the greatest ever, its more than obvious. just a little sharper, a little better footwork and straighter punches than Lewis. Not saying Lewis couldn't beat him in a 3 fight trilogy but WK is just a lil better than Lewis.

and the best is yet to come.
