Men lie, women lie, numbers don't. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is by far the most accomplished boxer of all time. He is also the least hit fighter in Compubox History.

    Here are some facts:

    Undefeated five-division champion.
    12-time world champion.
Won the lineal championship in four different weight classes.
Defeated more world champions than any other fighter in the history of boxing.
26-0 (10 KOs) in world title fights.
    6x Best Fighter ESPY Award.
3x BWAA's Fighter of the Year.
2x Ring magazine Fighter of the Year.
2x ESPN Fighter of the Year.
    Retired as boxing's pound-for-pound king.

List of fighters of who were on the Ring's Pound for Pound list at the time Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought them:

    Juan Manuel Marquez (#2 P4P)
    Manny Pacquiao (#3 P4P)
    Shane Mosley (#3 P4P)
    Diego Corrales (#5 P4P)
    Ricky Hatton (#8 P4P)
    Saul Alvarez (#9 P4P)
    Robert Guerrero (#9 P4P)

List of fighters of who were considered the best in their division at the time Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought them:

    Genaro Hernandez (#1 SFW)
    Diego Corrales (#1 SFW)
    Jose Luis Castillo (#1 LW)
    Arturo Gatti (#1 LWW)
    Carlos Baldomir (#1 WW)
    Miguel Cotto (#1 LMW)
    Saul Alvarez (#1 LMW)

Whether you like it or not, he will go down as the best boxer to ever lace up a pair of gloves. You can't argue with the facts.

Fun fact: No boxer has generated more in pay-per-view revenue and in pay-per-view buys than Floyd Mayweather Jr.

its not even about opinion drou, hes simply not the best ever.

its his arrogance in making that claim that is the giveaway. if you were the bst ever, you'd never have to claim it yourself...people would just know.

Did he ever hold the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO belts in a particular weight class at the same time?

How many world champions would all those old time legends have beaten if there was 4 sanctioning bodies around in their day and how many different weights would they have won titles in if there was almost double the amount of divisions there was back then? There's 17 divisions nowadays whereas there was only 8 back then. There were tons of excellent fighters back in them days who never became world champions but they undoubtedly would've done so if there was 4 sanctioning bodies around.

Only heavyweights can be in the mix when discussing the best boxer ever.

Heavyweight division is the A division, cruiserweight is the B division and so on.

Floyd fought at the lower leagues of boxing, it's ridiculous to claim that he's the best of his era over the Klitschko brothers yet alone the best ever. I don't know why people have so much difficulties understanding this simple fact. In the end if you'd put him in the same ring with Wladimir Klitschko to BOX with him he'd get absolutely demolished, so how can he be the best at BOXING? It's like claiming someone participating at paralympics is a better athlete than actual olympians.

By fools who don't understand the prestige of the heavyweight division. A lot of this is due to Americans losing interest in the HW division after Eastern European and also British boxers started dominating it, that's why they started to hype lower weight classes and guys like Floyd and by extension the P4P view of boxing.

Ali was always seen as the greatest and the reason why Tyson became such a household name is because he was a heavyweight too. A 150lbs version of Tyson wouldn't interest that many people.

People who claimed that Robinson is GOAT were basically the hipsters of their time, trying to be different and inventing some parallel "P4P" reality. Most people always had Ali as GOAT

Yep, 17 x 4 brings the number of legitimate belts to 68. Then you have the **** with the WBA having the Super WBA belt and Regular WBA belt. Which brings the total to 85 belts, and then if you count the interim belt, then that is 102 belts.

That means that between 130Ib - 140IB (Just 10IBs), someone has a pick of 15 belts, if you include WBA Super, WBA Regular, WBC, IBF, and WBO.

A potential 15 champions inbetween just 10 pounds of 3 weight divisions and is there any surprise that Floyd has beaten so many "Champions"?

He is great. But in the modern era, he has an advantage with the stats.

Nope. Lower quality opposition + waiting for fighters to be shot and old.
