When it's all said & done, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will go down as the best ever.

No. Best of his era. He couldn't have been TBE, just not enough quality around. (don't buy that he ducked)

Wrong. Joe Calzaghe has a better case to be TBE, than Mayweather does. The IV will ruin Mayweather.

To be fair, he won 1998 and 2007 fighter of the year. Still not the greatest.

Mayweather was at his best when he was beating the likes of Hernandez and Corrales at super featherweight. All the fighters you mentioned have started their careers at welterweight. They're all naturally bigger than Mayweather. I'd still favor him over any one of those fighters.

    Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Keep dreaming.

Great fighter, no question. But I don't think he's even the best fighter ever in any of the divisions he's fought in outside of 130.

It is, though, because it's the truth:good. However, sometimes the truth is just too much for some around here to accept:yep

    This is true.
When boxing started, back in England in the bareknuckle days, there was one championship. The best fighters would claim the championship, and fight for the championship, and be prepared to defend or challenge anyone for the championship.

Weight limits were invented by fighters who conceded they just weren't good enough to take on anyone, so they said "I am prepared to take on anyone weighing 10 stone or less", for example.

Floyd is a great fighter who happened to have the smarts to take advantage of a poor era, an era that's been perfectly suited for him and his agendas. He got really lucky being born in the era he did.
People will look at his record and be amazed at what he achieved statistically. In reality he and his team took full advantage of a weak era with a system that can be exploited.

The reality is and always will be >>> Floyd never beat a great fighter in their prime and never truly tested his skills no matter what the extremely pretentious stats read, or what the extrmely ignorant Floyd fanboy's will try and tell you.

imagine floyd fighting against guys like curry, brown, leonard, duran, pryor, hagler, hearns, benitez, honeygrams, camacho, mccallum, arguello, pernell etc. he'd have nowhere to run and he damn sure wouldn't retire undefeated fighting against guys of that caliber. he didn't even fight a prime pacquiao :rofl
