According to his fan's he is the universal p4p no1, but I was just being more realistic top 3 could mean 1, 2 or 3 tbf.

If p4p no1 and 2 don't have better wins, why wouldn't he jump ahead :bbb

GGG has never beaten anyone better than CEJ's win over BJS as well and he is already p4p top 3. P4P must obviously not be purely resume based any way. I think p4p is utter rubbish any way but that's just my opinion.

So with his 2 top wins and a few decent scalps like Chudinov, Spike and Blackwell that's really a decent resume any way. Not many would have a stronger one could you name them? (they must be active so no Floyd and Pacman etc who are retired)

I am annoyed at this fight, I must admit.

BJS had openly called for the fight and instead Golovkin faces someone he's beaten.

I mean what credit will G really get if he wins this fight?

Andre Ward would be the only fighter that comes close but his best wins are 4-5+ years ago so you lose a little in the ratings for old wins.

Even still GGG beats the brakes off Kessler and Froch h2h so p4p its day and night dont you think,

According to GGG fan's which is a majority of this forum GGG>=all of Wards super 6 wins which are stale as **** any way.

    You name a better resume?

Realistically, it's another top ten contender on his record, to go alongside the 7 or 8 he's knocked out already. Nothing more, nothing less.

As regards BJS, his fight with CEJ was razor thin either way and didn't conclusively prove either man as the better fighter. Both have moved on since then. But BJS didn't do himself many favours by turning down the last approach from team GGG and then piping up about how much he wants the fight when both already had other fights signed. Like Eubank/Hearn or loathe them, Eddie has done the right thing, no using GGG's name in the press to try and get a bit of attention when you have no intention of actually stepping into the ring with him (like Lara for example). Get in contact with his team, offer a big payday and say "let's make this baby. Stevens did it and got the fight, now CEJ looks to have done the same. GGG is not a hard guy to find if you really want the fight enough. I'm pretty sure they would jump at the Saunders fight, which would basically crown an undisputed champion.

It is less because CEJ isn't a top ten ranked opponent, he might be one day, but today he isn't.

All I'm saying is, when BJS calls out G, and when Lara calls out G wen his response is a none world ranked opponent I don't like it that much.

Credit to CEJ and Hearn for making the fight though. Like Martin Murray getting an undeserved shot, these things can catapult you to the big league.

Ring Magazine have CEJ at #7 and Boxing Monthly have him at #6. I also think he is the WBA mandatory to Jacobs. He's world ranked alright. Bottom line is anyone can "call somebody out" when speaking to the press, the serious ones get the deal done. I don't think you can blame team GGG for being cynical of dealing with Saunders, who was offered the fight previously and decided he'd rather fight Max Bursak. Still, maybe that one can be made next, not much better out there for either man at the moment.

    Ring magazine have an agenda.

TRBR don't rank him and that's enough for me.

I don't care how sceptical he is.

Fact is BJS called him out and instead he's fighting some BJS has beaten.

    Props to CEJ.
