he fight srr in detroit, his lucky town ,where he did some of his best fighting and had some great wins, instead of chicago when srr challenged for the middleweight crown.? if the fight had beeen held in detroit would there have been any difference in the outcome? lamotta claims he went to chicago too early and partied it up till before the fight and had to cut weight and came into the fight drained.also why did he choose srr? who else was around he could have fought instead and maybe held his title longer?

Somewhere in the course of this program Lamotta says he went staright into fights with Ray Robinson because that was who he could make the most money with. I guess he didn't fight in Detroit because he had no control over where it was and whoever did (probably someone in the mafia) thought more money could be made elsewhere so that's how it went.
