Well, by their very genetic nature the Chinese will never be "big" in the sport (as in, dominant at heavyweight) - but maybe they could impact feather and below. :yep

I like Mike....just don't see that next-level crossover star quality in him. :conf

Boxing is great. I enjoy how I view boxing because I value every division the same. Most people don't follow the 108's, 112's, 115's of the world, and a decent amount even hold it against them on some weird principle. At times, they are the best divisions in the sport (like now with 112 being, in my opinion, the best or second best div). The legends that receive mainstream popularity and support are seldom from these divisions, and they have continued on providing their share or more of action fights.

I'm def with IB on this one. I see Jones as being a constantly ranked guy throughout his career, but doubt he ever graces the P4P list, for example. I don't think he has the talent or personality that will make him carve a career of the impact you do. No star quality there, in my opinion.

I actually could see people having him top 10 p4p, but not everyone who's top 10 p4p is a huge mainstream star.

    Look at Tim Bradley. :conf

That may be, but for very obvious reasons (cough, JESUS FREAK... cough, hugger!) he will never become a real star.

He won't become famous because he's too religious for the public, or his religious ways make him too well-behaved to cause any controversy?:think

    Not quite true, IB.

There are more Chinese over 6 ft (or 6 ft 3 or 6 ft 6) than there are Americans.

There are more Chinese in any size bracket than there are Americans.

Size is NOT the reason that the Chinese don't figure much in the HW division (or any other division, for that matter).

When all the better boxers that are part of the older HOF group.

Well we will have other fighters to support that will come through i feel and be pretty decent.

    Like
    Andre Ward
    Saul Alvarez
    Brandon Rios
    Adrien Broner
    Abner Mares
    Gennady Golovkin

Plus there are guys that are been around now a while that are still young.

    Like
    Jean Pascal
    Chad Dawson
    Andre Dirrell
    Julio C Chavez Jr
    Austin Trout
    Andre Berto
    Mike Jones
    Tim Bradley
    Amir Khan
    Miguel Vazquez
    Yuriorkis Gamboa

    And i could go on.

When some greats leave others become.
