True. Even in the Mora rematch, Forrest was tired in the later rounds. Mayweather would definetely take advantage of that, & from round 8 til 12 Mayweather would do him in.

 

I wasn't aware that Oscar started his career at 154, and has done anything worthy of note since his second fight with Mosley?

However, that aside, I already made note of how I think Mayweather Jr could suceed at 154, mainly due to lack of competition. Forrest causes him problems, even now, but as for everybody else, I don't see it.

Forrest mainly showed signs of fatigue, as vague as they were, because he had spent the entire fight laying into Mora. It was a good performance by Vernon, who would be really up for a fight with Mayweather, I'm sure.

Of course, this is all academic because Mayweather isn't likely to try and beat the man at 154. I'm convinced that he is eyeing up a return bout with either Oscar or Hatton. In the event that Pacquiao beats Oscar and then Hatton, we would probably have Manny vs Floyd. In any event, I can live without any of those fights.

You can argue who the best junior middleweight is, but Vernon would be the most likely to cause Floyd problems.

 

Yea, I agree that Vernon would probably cause Floyd the most problems of anyone at 154. Sergiy would also be a tough fight for PBF.

 

pbf's camp offered cotto a match when they were at 140 but cotto's camp said he wasnt ready so their loss.. but then again it might be a good thing cuz i think pbf would have definitely beat cotto at 140.... maybe knocked him out at that

Miguel Cotto was in terrible shape as a Junior Welterweight. His punch resistance was non existance, and he seems to have carried his power up to 147 fairly well. At 140, Mayweather Jr knocks Cotto out.

At 147, it's a different story.

 

It was after the Mayweather/Gatti fight when Floyd asked for it, but yeah, it wouldn't have been a good decision for Team Cotto (and Arum) to do that. Spring 2008 would've been the best time for it, but unfortunately it didn't happen.

Forest? What about Santos, Williams who will be a champ at 154 very soon, andt the undefeated WBO champ? Actually, I think the WBO and Santos would beat Forest. Anyway, I believe PBF would be to smart and fast for all at 154.

 

You will have to wait like all of us. The unthinkable of Pac vs Oscar and maybe Hatton vs Oscar. It all about the money and PBF is about money. PBF will wait until the smoke clears and start talking about a return. He will possibly fight a top ten WW fighter to get the rust off and then take on who is left that could bring him the most money.
