    pac did that all himself when he went and fought clottey instead of fighting the best fighter in the world.:deal

    Even if he never challenges martinez, jmm, bradley, ortiz. Still a good way to finish his career imo.

    Like bladegunner says: it's a shame that floyd tried making up his own rule set to avoid fighting the best fighter in the world. We'd have had a welterweight champ by now.

    No, the commission rule is that you be within the contracted weight. The penalty for breaking that rule is between the fighters.

    Who is the top dog of the WW division? Pacquiao is the top dog. How can he possibly beat himself?

    No by the commission ruling the penalty is fight cancellation.

    There were a number of threads about it at the time. No idea why a catchweight was even in order because Ortiz was swelling up after the weigh-in for his fights at 140, to somewhere in the high 150's I believe. Then against Berto he comes in the low 160 region I believe.

    Yeah ortiz is built like a big brick shithouse... I think he stops floyd late on then him and pac can go to war for the ww title.
