If your talking about his personality out side the ring, then you have a point there, but as far as the fighter in the ring your wrong. Floyd hands down is the best of this era, Manny is who he is today because he was carried by the Mayweather name. There are plenty of fighters out there who are good, but never get the shine they deserve, because they don't have that opponent to bring them into the spot light. Floyd was a star and a brand before we knew who a Manny was, Arum was a smart ******* to build Manny around Floyd when Floyd broke free from his chains and became his own man. You speak of Floyd avoiding tough challenges, but yet Manny takes the easy way out by draining his opponents to have an advantage over them. Where's the challenge in that or the toughness? Floyd fought De la Hoyle at 154lbs, he is set to face Cotto at 154lbs, two fighters that Manny had not a problem with draining before facing them. Manny own promoter don't even believe that Pac can take Floyd, which is why he never intended on having Pac face him. History will remember Floyd for a lot of bad things, but most of all he'll be remember for his exceptional skills in the ring and as the guy that Manny the Pac-man Pacquiao ducked.

Casual fans will remember seeing Pac get schooled by JMM, and will remember Floyd schooling JMM, and then the casual fan will think, Mayweather was an *******, but he had the skills to back it up, Floyd Mayweather was the best fighter of the 2000's.

With that I can agree. They will still not consider him GOAT, Ali is hugely popular among casual fans and he repeated that he is the greatest enough time to make them think it is true. Still casual fans like KOs and stuff so some of them will pick Pac as the greater fighter. I rate Pac higher for now personally but it's close and Floyd is fighting better opposition recently.

3 of his past 5 fights were at catchweights. What a warrior.

    Morales vs Pac 2
    Morales vs Pac 3
    De La Hoya vs Pac
    Cotto vs Pac
    Margarito vs Pac
Cotto vs Pac 2 would have been at a lower weight too.

All these fighters fought at a weight lower than their previous fights.

    Great Post... :good

:clap::clap: Manny is so entertaining in the ring!! Always a gentleman outside of it.. When Pac retires, a little bit of boxing will die. Of course we still have other exciting fighters like Ortiz, Kirkland, Pavlik etc...

The thing that makes Manny Pacquiao so special is that he has tons of talent and he's also exciting to watch! When Manny taps his gloves and trades with his foe's, its amazing. It's a thing of beauty! WAR MANNY...

You might not feel the same way toward any other fighters but Pacquiao but it does not mean that a part of Boxing will die. It never does. When there is a great fighter (active) it is always hard to believe that someone from the new generation can turn out to be great. But then it happens..

He certainly has fought the best. But if there are good fighters coming up there is always someone to take the place of a great fighter. I don't see who could take his place at the moment. He does stand alone ..
