BOXING WAS DYING but mayweather and pacquiao pulled it up. I bet if this two goes, boxing will slowly dies until somebody of their caliber pops out.

It's closing in on 10 years since Tyson called it a day, and DLH while he is missed it's not felt right now because we (the boxing world) have Pac and Floyd.

And getting convincingly beaten by Mayweather (which I think he will if they ever fight) wont take away from all he gave the sport.

Pacquiao will be missed for being a great fighter and humanitarian. He won't be missed when supposedly being a phenom then winning by controversy vs a 38 yr old lightweight. If anyone is the phenom here its Juan Manuel Marquez. Delajoya early in his career, Mayweather for most of his welterweight campaign, and now Pacquiao is criticized heavily for the obvious mismatches produced by careful matchmaking. To keep supporting this is not being a true fan of boxing.

i agree that he should have fought j. diaz instead of d. diaz....other than that, what fight should he have fought a different fighter instead??

Marquez 135, Guzman, Casamayor, J. Diaz, Campbell, John, just to name some. Sure I think he'd win most with the exception of Marquez and maybe Guzman, but my point isn't about whether he'd win or lose to those guys, but not facing the best at their best. Hatton was a great win Manny was the underdog Hatton in a division he'd never lost, but recently kod and instead of his usually pressure style he was using Floyd Sr.s style. I'm not taking away from Mannys achievements, but I aint adding either. He did impress me with Clottey and I respect him for fighting Bradley but neither are known as dangerous or highly skillful. Those guys werent/aren't damaged at least.

It's not gonna be the same without Pacquiao. It's gonna suck quite hard once he's done.

...they had just fought a 2nd time at 130 when jmm again asked for a third...and he again just fought him so you can't seriously say pac is ducking someone he has fought 3 times.

guzman...has to be at 130 and the solis fight maybe, but solis ended up having a better career than guzman...hbo was unwilling to let pac/arum do a ppv so they did their own. what ppv would sell more against pac, mexican or dominican??

    j. diaz...by the time pac was set to move up to 135, he just lost to campbell

.... i can't recall when and what fight he would have been a viable option...for the d. diaz fight maybe or pac should have fought casa instead of dlh or hatton??

campbell...had just beaten juan diaz and he would have been a tougher fight than d. diaz. however, pac/arum was already set to fight d. diaz at 135 and was postponed to fight jmm at 130......d. diaz was a tuneup fight anyway for pac above 130.

john...it would have to have been at 125 and he didn't fought in the u.s. until 2009.

this *****s has the nerve to say this when all the time it was floyd who:

    1. accused pac of being on PEDs and A-side meth.
    2. take vacations when the fight is about to be made.
    3. was offered a fair 50/50 split but decided to ran away.

He will indeed be greatly missed, I agree with the several careers part imo 3 beginning to title, joining roach part till jmm 2 and the weight jumps after that from diaz on.
