Boxing fans in general are known to be fickle/hypocritical, for a while the general opinion in here was that Joshua was ducking Wilder and then the script suddenly switched when the whole 100 million offer appeared and everyone was going off on Wilder being a ducker. Long story short don't really expect much consistency with boxing fans.

Holyfield is one if those guys where despite the clear PED usage it's somewhat easy to look past due all the great fights he was in and the fact that he fought literally everyone.

What Jones failed for was legal at the time.
I've written about this extensively before, look it up it's true.
Androstenedione was legally available at the time and not banned by the sanctioning bodies.
Indiana didn't even have the authority to test for it.
His opponent Richard hall actually also tested positive but for elevated testosterone levels

Roy Jones looked every bit a drugs cheat in an era which was the Wild West in regards to PEDs. Androstenedione was what Mark McGwire was on and at the very least you have to question if someone 'legally' on that then would be as good against today's fighters without it.

    **** drugs cheats in boxing.

Actually that’s a fair point, lol

boxing fans of all flavours are so often a hypocritical bunch while all refusing to admit it finding it far more individually rewarding to simply keep believing it doesn’t happen to them and only to others.

This is what really bugs me about the whole thing. Whyte has been caught out, it remains to be seen the extent of what he's been involved in - whether he's been trying to gain advantage or cheat etc - but only recently we had Pacquaio and Thurman fighting in what was, blatantly, a PED fest.

Now, who should we be more angry at, the guys avoiding meaningful testing or the guys taking part in meaningful testing and being daft enough to still do it? I'm not sure what the answer is there.

Until there's a global adoption, led by the sanctioning bodies, of year-round in and out of competition Olympic-style testing at the top end of the sport, it's difficult to get too upset by it, even if I do find it all distasteful.
