look 40ounce, i'm picking peter to win because vitali's been out of the ring for almost 4 years, but...

if vitali wins, this thread will be classic for reasons you don't want it to be.

    be careful!

Fact is, that a prime Vitali will beat Peter up. But a rusted washed up Vitaly will loose. Simple as that. :)

Vitali was a very good fighter. Who knows? He still could be. However, he's gonna be tested by Peter. This is not a petrified Kirk Johnson or a 3 round fighter like Corrie Sanders looking to land something big early and this is most certainly not (please forgive me cuz I'm a big fan of the guy) Danny Williams who just stood there and took a beating all night. Samuel Peter is coming into his own. He's always gonna have the equalizer but he's also added some solid boxing skills to his repertoire. It just doesn't appear as so cuz he's flatfooted and doesn't always come in at an optimum weight. If you ask me, the circumstances are ripe for Peter to win. Klitschko's been out of the ring for 4 years and hasn't had so much as a tune-up fight and Peter's gone to boxing school (2 fights with Toney, showing courage against McCline to come back and win, and going 12 with Wladimir flooring him 3 times along the way). Say what you want about Maskaev being old and slow but you still gotta do the job and Peter did it emphatically. If this fight were 4 years ago it'd probably be a Klitschko walkover but this is 2008 and Samuel Peter is hitting his stride and Vitali Klitschko is fighting not only the aforementioned opponent but circumstances that may limit him in ways that are completely out of his control.

Jameel busted this guy up to the point he invented a mystery ailment.

Vitali, potentially one of the biggest hitters since Tyson... with one of the staunchest chins and a height difference of 6 inches, is going to lose to Peter?

    Bookmark this thread, people.

This fight is a lose-lose situation for Peter. When he loses he was beaten by a fighter after a 4 year layoff. When he wins he only won against an old rusty fighter. None of that really helps to build his legacy....

No, I think Peter will get all kinds of clout and credit for beating Vitail.

Given Vitali's reputation for conditioning, I think boxing fans know he'll be prepared and in supreme fighting condition, and a win over him will certainly be very credible. Vitali knows where he is at, and he willfully took this fight, cold.........so.

No excuses. If Peter can manage to beat him, he gets all kinds of credit from me.

That said.............Vitali by highlight reel KO.........mid rounds.

Vitali has been to inactive. I do think Peter wins this. I can't believe Vitali would take this fight without a tuneup.
