when quitting is the right thing to do

    KT not coming out for the 12th against Hatton might have been the right decision,, KT was hospitalised and pissing blood for a few days.

    Of course, that's all after the fact.

    Refs, cornermen and the fighters themselves need to be educated on many signs that the fighter may have suffered brain or eye damage already.

    It depends when and how you quit, if you are competetive in the fight and walk away like duran you get hated on. If you take a terrible beatdown and quit on your stool its oki, but if your in a tough fight and quit you will get hated on like ortiz was after maidana. Its better to let your corner pull you out, there are some fights that are one sided beatdowns and they should haven been stopped just for the fighters safety, briggs and margarito come to mind.
