Plenty of instances when a ref spoils a fight or ruins a fighter but when in your opinion did a ref make a big call and get it right?
Yep. There was a bunch of woulda coulda scenarios but IMO Fedor was sparked momentarily and was in an awful position against a power hitter.
I liked it when Jon Jones came out on all fours and Belfort went for a head kick, Jones looked at Big John and McCarthy just shrugged and said keep going. Herb Dean did something similar when someone was playing the one hand down thing and getting kneed in the head
Big John doesn't make too many bad calls. When a guy gets felled by a big punch he almost beats the aggressor to the ground getting in position to stop things.
Thing I don't like about Big John is that he tends to try to direct the fights. You can't go ten seconds without hearing him chime in one way or another.
letting kongo continue against barry. there was literally like five or six moments where it could have been stopped and i wouldnt have said one word in complaint but each time he let kongo have the benefit of the doubt and it ended up being the right call.
