Sharper against who? Molllases slow Margarito!

Win or lose Cotto was going to look fast and sharp vs Margarito.
The only question mark going into that fight was whether Cotto had the staying power to fend off a slow coming freight train that was Margarito.

Dont overanalyze this Tazo. Most fighters will look faster and even sharper than they really are against a slow a fighter like Margarito.

Exactly. Quite an overstated performance. While Margo's eye was badly closing, the stoppage came when Cotto started to look a little winded in my estimation (I am not saying unjustifiably). Margo also probably had his best round in the 9th although he lost that round as well as every other round in the fight.

Would love to see Mayweather get old overnight and perform to Cotto's level of speed and skill so that we can witness a real fight.

I dont see that coming this fight however. Should be an easy night for Mayweather.

Cotto v Margarito I is completely irrelevant, as is May v Castillo. Both men fought the same fighter again and made it one sided.. MC and Mayweather have improved so much since.

With that being said, I agree on all other points. Victor Ortiz has faster hands, but doesn't have the maturity or brains of the two fighting tonight.

Mayweather is hands down the best boxer in the world, P4P since January 2001. Truly the only person that can beat Floyd Mayweather is, FM. He will pace himself, and look to pick Cotto apart rounds 6-12.. That has always been the game plan.

We've seen from 24/7 that Cotto will not be dicking around on the outside. He cannot play the 1-2 game with May at any point during this fight. The more I think about it, this Boxing match becomes a fast paced scrap that ends within 6 or 7 rounds.

Mayweather will come from behind or off the canvas to win.

You're all over the place with your prediction. Seems you're undecided.

I'll say it again, certain attributes stand out whether your opponent is elite or as good as a heavy bag. I'm not over-analyzing ****, and wouldn't be surprised if Floyd won a wide decision, I'm just pointing out the truth. Margarito was the same slow ass plodder he was in the first, and Cotto's hands moved quicker.

Floyd's legs are shot compared to what they used to be - Floyd has just not been training well.. Cotto will take advantage of this fact. Expect to see a Cotto who can "Zip" about the ring.

Pluss...Floyd can no longer effectively throw combinations, and his left Jab has withered.

    Cotto will **** him up.

It's all good. I think your first prediction was better, but your second one is certainly more exciting. Let's hope it's right.

This is simply not true Bogotazo. When Mayweather thoroughly handles Cotto, don't try and act like Mayweather performed exceptionally or that Cotto didn't properly fight his best fight (Whatever that fight ends up being). You may not be surprised but for many of us it will be expected. I will happily admit the same if I end up being wrong and you're right unless it is a case of Mayweather looking like he grew old overnight (Not trying to save excuses because I think Cotto is not good enough for Mayweather. If Mayweather is somehow lesser that changes the equation somewhat). I think Divac will do the same if you're right, too.

I can easily admit Mayweather will be the better fighter on the night due to being more skilled, in the event that happens. I'm just saying I saw Cotto's hands moved quicker in the Margarito rematch than I've seen them look in a long, long time, and Margarito look in similarly good shape with a similar style.

Cotto's hands were'nt any faster for Margarito 2......

The difference between the fights was Margarito's eye had been damaged by Pacquiao and because of it, Margarito took a horrific shellaking.

When you take that type of shellaking from a fighter and come out of it damaged as Margarito was. You dont walk into a ring with the same type of kill or be killed mentality.

Margarito knew that because his eye was damaged goods, he did'nt have the luxury to just plodd through and ignore incoming as long as he got his off.

In the Cotto rematch, you could actually see Margarito try to block shots instead of doing what he did in the first fight and run through them to throw his own.

Margarito in blocking mode takes away from his offense to touch up Cotto.
Thus he spent the majority of his rounds trying to set up punches instead of driving full steam ahead trying to steamroll Cotto as he had done in fight 1.

That little boxing that Margarito tried to incorporate vs Cotto actually ends up hurting him because he just cant begin to match Cotto fighitng in that mode.

    Think JMM-Juan Diaz.
Diaz gave an account of himself just attempting to blitz JMM in fight one.
In fight 2, having already been knocked out in fight 1, Diaz is just outclassed trying to incorporate boxing against a fighter thats a master at it.

I have to say, I agree Cotto didn't look faster vs Margarito II, but he had more stamina to avoid staying in front of Margarito like last time. Even then, it appeared that Cotto was beginning to slow down during round 9.
