It kinda saddens me that Burns doesn't finish opponents off, i know he's met some tough fella's but when you watch the Martinez and Katsidis fights the kid digs very hard when he sets his feet and punches with venom. Not saying a massive puncher but enough to be stopping guys like Evensen and even maybe Moses last night.

I think he's to happy to go to points, i don't see him stopping Mitchell. He'll outbox him though. Mitchell and Tibbs will have to have a long think about how they approach fighting Ricky because trying to be a pure boxer won't work.

Burns has the style to stop Kev getting off IMO, but I can't see him stopping him.

The only way to beat Burns if your Mitchell is blast away at the body and slow the lad down. Bigger punchers than Mitchell have tried and failed to stop him and Mitchell wont get a points win. I cant see how he could win other than doing that.

Burns simply isn't a puncher, he can hurt you with speed and accuracy but he hasn't that spiteful streak that will ko an opponent. I blame this for his relatively small profile for a world champ.

I can't see Burns stopping Mitchell, but I do think he'll stroll the fight though. Burns by wide UD.

    Another vote for Burns UD.

Think he might bash Mitchell up a bit though.

Ricky Burns is a world class fight, Kevin Mitchell isn't. This fight is a travesty but expected in the disgrace of a sport called boxing.

Burns should be looking to unify or at the very least mix it with undisputed top 5 contenders or former champs.

Mitchell is a good fighter with a couple of good wins but Burns is tried and tested on the world stage against respected fighters who can clean your clock.

I agree. Burns length/ jab/distance will stop Mitchell getting going.

Strongly lead towards Burns UD but either way its a mismatch. Kevin Mitchell has shown nothing that suggests this is the fight Boxnation are building it up to be. What has he done that is of substance? I don't just mean wins wise, I mean stylistically. He was on the backfoot against a journeyman last fight picking precise counters, I mean whats all that about? He should have dominated the guy. Okay so he messed around against Prescott and devised the right strategy to specifically beat him, but he looked less than impressive against Johannesson and Murray over long periods getting hit all over the place. Mitchell doesn't have the defence to pull off the style he's trying to, infact I don't know what his style is. I don't know if he's at his best in the pocket despite his fragile beard or on his backfoot producing work of questionable substance. Either way...

That interviewer...'Burns/Mitchell is the one everybody wants to see....isn't it?"

    Is it?

FW monopolising the belt by having Burns fight everyone in his stable or attempting to get options when fighting anyone outwith his control. Mitchell is a good fighter but doesn't deserve the title shot at the moment, I'd rather Burns lose testing himself against the best than winning in standard FW title defences.
