Lot of talk in the press regarding this fight.

When is the earliest you think it can happen?

My feeling is the earliest would be after unifying against TB v DA winner, then either Berto or maybe Cotto for his debut WW fight, then FMJ.

So he could unfify in the middle of 2011, WW debut end of 2011 thn fight FLoyd in first half of 2012.

    Is this possible?

What are his chances? As a big Khan fan I think he would lose but enhance his reputation. By that I mean he would give FMJ the closest fight he's had since the Castillo fight.

Maybe Im just dreaming of a remathc and then an historical rubber match? Thoughts?

Yeah pretty much what you said. I doubt Khan could ever beat Mayweather.

Might give him a rough night though in a couple of years.

I don't know why he isn't fighting the winner of Timmy and Devon next and they trying to fight Lamont or some other non deserving fighter

    Late 2012 at the earliest.

I'd rather see him fight the following in order:

    2011
Peterson or Judah 140 in UK
    Bradley/Alexander Winner 140 in US
    Marquez 140 in US

    2012
    Brook 147 in UK
    Berto 147 in US
    Cotto 147 in US

    2013
One more fight in UK at 147 (A Hatton Comeback fight?)
Mayweather 147 in US (if he hasn't retired)
Pacquiao 147 in US (if he hasn't retired)

Damn, so much expectation of Khan. And too soon. A few fights ago he was written off as a glass-jawed joke as he was being scraped off the canvas vs Prescott.

I don't want to see him fight Mayweather any time soon. Atleast not when there are still big fights for him at 140 and the Pac-Mayweather fight still a possibility. Bradley/Alexander, Maidana rematch, JMM or Prescott rematch thrown in there, Ortiz. That should take a couple of years. Late 2012/2013 at the earliest.

Who are we talking about? Floyd Mayweather? The guy who hasn't fought since May and has no bouts for the near future? Khan's fans are all over it as if they have a fight scheduled already. Floyd's not fighting anybody and Khan just barely made it past Maidana, the odds of this fight happening are slim to none.

Mid to late 2012 is realistic. If he has his fight in England against Katsidis or Judah in about April, then beats the Bradley / Alexander winner, he will comfortably the best JWW in the world. That's quite a good 2011.

Then he fights one legit WW contender or champion in early 2012, e.g. Andre Berto, he then can press for a fight with money.

If he achieves all the above, he'll be top 5 p4p, one of the most attractive options financially for Floyd and in my opinion, the second best option after Pacquiao.

Khan may only be 24, but if he does all of the above in the next 18 months, he will be in the right place to take on Floyd after that.

That's the way I see it. Khan's best chance is when he's neared his peak, and Floyd's slowed down a considerable amount. Only then will it be competitive.

Khan needs to improve, and Mayweather needs to decline...that is the only way Khan has a chance, and even then it is not a certainty that Khan would win.

The Mayweather that fought Mosley v the Khan that fought Maidana...Mayweather wins fairly easy, whilst making Khan look silly.

i think Khan has a good chance in this.

he is definetly offensively good enough to land. I think Khan would take the first 4 rounds, then the longer the fight lasts, mayweather will start to take over. With most likely scenario being a late KO by Mayweather as he's worn Khan down. Or a UD for Mayweather as Khan does alot more retreating in 2nd half of fight.

Either way will be a good close fight. Khan is not on the same level as Mayweather however he does have the style to beat him.
