Agree. Jones isn't Dawson and any suggestion that he is looks ridiculous. I'm one of Dawson's biggest supporters on this site, but no one should confuse him with a prime Roy Jones. I expect Dawson to win an exciting fight. Tarver has a puncher's chance, but this fight is about Chad. If he fights intelligently, he'll cruise and have an opportunity for a late stoppage. If he insists on slugging it out as he did against Johnson, he may get stopped.
Tarver's fight with Dawson (win or lose) will say nothing about Tarver's fight with Roy. The fact that you're trying to loosely tie the two together is curious at best. What does Dawson have to do with Roy Jones being far removed from his prime when he fought Tarver?
I will actually agree with the premise that Roy was not as shot as some make it seem in that second fight. He was drained in fight 1, not in fight 2. In fight 2 he was a fraction slower with both hands and feet, nothing more. His chin was the same and it got clipped. I will say, I disagree with the premise that a Dawson-Tarver fight in any way connects with a Tarver-Jones fight.
Tarver is 3-0 against RJJ in my book so all the praise in the World even before this one takes place, the true legend killa. But this one seems to be more of a rap beef with the Magic Man asking Bad Chad to dance and Chad chewing some gum, shades and cap on, ear rings of course and a whole lot of hype. It's funny but they're overhyping it and it doesn't mean a Godamn thing about Tarver's past - Tarver always had Roy's number but Hops had Antonio's number but never rematched with Roy so where are we going?
