What exactly was this drank and why aren't more boxers using it?

the fact that it was Panama Lewis asking for the bottle he mixed himself, who later took the padding out of the gloves in the famous Resto situation, it could have been methamphetamines or just about anything. Who knows? No sample recovered.

What kind of opening example is that, the better fighter would not have to load his gloves.

which one is which here? Pacquiao is a great boxer but unconventional, Morales is an awesome conventional flat footed boxer with sick combinations who imo outboxed Madaina and Garcia in their first fight. They are both A level boxers who liked to trade a lot.

I understand the glove incident but that drink **** am not buying. You mean to tell me that Panama discovered something that chemists are yet to discover?

Amphetamines do open airways, that's what asthma sufferers take. Don't know if comes in liquid form but you can easily crush the pills into powder to be mixed, hence, "the one I mixed"

No. PRYOR WALKED OUT WITHOUT A POST FIGHT DRUG TEST. He didn't pee, he just left.

Could have literally been speed or anything.

Are you sure they were doing drug testing back in the early 80s?

Not saying that you're wrong but I need a Pharmacist to confirm this.

Pretty sure if you just went to your local pharmacy and found one of those inhaler things for asthma people which contains amphetamine, that all you would have to do is read the box. It shows it picture alluding to increased air being admitted to the lungs, it might even give you an explanation if I recall correctly.

Froch vs Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Groves <Insert Name Here>

But that's why I love Froch.

Oh and Leonard/Duran 1 ... no way is Duran a better boxer than SRL.

usually there is a post fight urine test at the least, but the commission did not administer one. here is a quote about the incident and some later comments, but this is straight from online:

"Many speculated that there was something illegal in the bottle, but nobody checked the contents and the Miami Boxing Commission failed to administer a post-fight urine test to the boxers. Lewis and Pryor steadfastly denied that there was anything illegal in the bottle.
Artie Curley said that the bottle contained peppermint schnapps to settle Pryor's upset stomach. In a 2009 documentary, former Lewis-trained boxer Luis Resto revealed that Lewis would break apart antihistamine pills and pour the medicine into his water, giving him greater lung capacity in the later rounds of a fight"

Seriously though, amphetamines do have an extreme stimulatory effect on the nervous system, thus "speed".

albuterol, the common inhaler medication, has components which are chemically very similar to amphetamines and certain other benzos.

So you were able to analyze the actual substance? Is this what your findings have shown or is it just your dumb ass opinion? With all due respect of course..

Luis Resto said Panama used "asthma medicine" that "opens the lungs".

Emanuel Steward sort of busted Pryor out in an interview and said Pryor told him he'd been taking illegal substances with Panama Lewis.

Pryor beat Arguello pretty bad in the rematch, although it should be noted that Arguello was naturally smaller and had a ton of ring wear-and-tear on him.
