If Roy just retired after the Tarver fight yes, now he basically ****ed his own legacy up

He beat James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. That alone rivals wins such as Leonard over Hearns and Hagler. (Maybe not as good but still very impressive)

They weren't classics because he dominated them which isnt his faut.

Your "being KO'd Argument" Is kinda my point - Should it affect his rankings when he was massively declined in those fights.

Noone downgrades Chavez Jr for getting TKO'd twice by Delahoya as he was noticebly declined

Did Robinson **** up his legacy by losing 16 times in the last 8 years of his career to mediocre opposition?

People talk about resumes all the time, and who a guy fought.

I however like to look at actual abilities. He did things in the ring that NO other fighter in history could do. Regardless of who they were actually fighting.

4 hooks aright after another. Taking apart good fighters with complete ease.

I mean he took James Toney apart completely, who else could do that??/

Excellent point .Had he retired after Ruiz his record would have been 50-1 if im correct ..The only loss was a DQ imagine that .

I would love to have read the commentary on the level of opposistion he faced from start to finish and as well as to what people thougt of those performances ..

Most of Roy's opponents before Tarver had very low ko percentages. Roy has always had a glass jaw and he knew it by the opponents that he avoided.

To his credit, he had the most amazing speed and reflexes that I have seen in my lifetime.

This........................It's hard to rate him when he feasted on pillow fisted bums, in the prime of his career.

Him shamelessly ducking Hopkins is the biggest stain on his career IMO

How do you get fighter of a decade by actually doing what you just said ? Explain since all he fought were a bunch of Winky Wright's and Pauly Malinaggi's ???

lots of dumb kids and asshat trolls up in here!

He is easily top 10-15, and for me top 8! In my 42 years, I've yet to see someone with his blend of skill, speed, power, and sheer natural ability when he was in the 90's. The guy barely lost a round, much less a fight! At 168, he was a legend.

you ******s keep bringing the post Tarver KO's and crappy fights... keep idiocy alive!
