I guess you haven't seen Hopkins' track record against basic guys like Kovalev have you? He owns them that style is tailormade for him. Hopkins stuggles with speed and athleticism not power.:deal

Mate stop trolling the best name he had in his record was campillo and he had every gone downhill, he ha been twice beaten and stopped once, watched it on boxnation and the predicted a early stoppage for Stevenson and so did everyone else

Silakh, cleverly are as good as forfana and kovalev didn't have any problems against them

yeh i realise that, and i also realise kovalev has enough speed and timing to hit bernard and underated skills that will get him in range. and i know bernard wont survive it. so the poweful plodders that hopkins beat arent anywhere near the krushers level. murat, beibetuv rofl bunch of clowns. pavlik a drunk crown, overated. half as power as kovalev and half as skillful. trinidad blown up welterweight, had no chance anyway fighting one of the best middleweights of all time. we will see anyway when your proven wrong pimp c, you change your name to shrimp D = shrimp dick. :rofl

You corny mother fu cker you actually think that is funny?
Hopkins' resume shits on Kovalev who hasn't done **** yet in his career but get a bunch of hype. Fans always overrate power so it doesn't surprise me when Kovalev gets overrated as well. What won't surprise me is to see his power smothered and him being made to look average in the ring.

Methinks you're underselling Kovalev quite a bit. He's accurate , good timing, aggressive as hell and has a very high workrate. If he was as basic as all that, like Shumenov et al, I'm fairly sure Hopkins would have found a way to snag that title. He'll eat those guys up. Kovalev is a bit of a different animal in my book .

Fonfara is high calibre now? 2 months ago Fonfara was viewed as a weak defense. I'd take Cleverly to beat Fonfara. I'd also put Sillakh-Fonfara as even money. That's the level Fonfara is at. He managed to win a few rounds, KD and push Stevenson. I think the one whose basicity(?) should be questioned is Stevenson.

Stevensen should have fought Kovalev like yesterday. No defending his backing out of the fight. Hopkins is an old man. He's paid his dues. Can't knock him, as long as he doesn't hold belt hostage. Defend against your mandotories and if you get a big money fight against Stevensen so be it.

Hopkins would get knocked out against Kovalev.

Base on what can the old man beat Kovalev at this point in his career? Beat Cloud? one of the most one-dimensional fighters in boxing? Beating Murat, a Celeverly leftover? Beating Shumenov? A guy who got his belt in one of the biggest robberies in the last decade?

Yes, we respect Hopkins for have such longevity, but let's not live in fantasy land. He no longer have the tools to beat a guy like Kovalev, who can knock him out with either hand.

It's easy to fight a fight like Shumenov, who keeps his hands down and had a predictable attack. Campillo schooled his ass 10-2 and got robbed. Kovalev would pummel Hopkins into submission. I would put money on it.

He gets more viewers fighting on HBO than he would on Showtime.
More people see him fight, the more he raises his profile.
The less the idoits can use the "Who Kovalev?" "Nobody know who he is" excuse.

Damn right. These fools don't know ****.

Kovalev is a bigger draw than both Hopkins & Stevenson at the moment. He gets a lot more viewers and gets treated well by both HBO and Main Events.

You don't chase duckers because they will duck no matter where you go.
