You think they'd just let him waltz on over to Showtime and take Stevenson's and BHop's belts and then go where ever he wants?
This isn't a perfect world, man. Showtime is going to want their piece, just like HBO wanted a piece of Stevenson(agree to fight Kovalev) if they had picked up the Fonfara fight.

I'm not even sure how long Kovalev's deal with HBO is. I doubt they would just let him go to another network.

 

He lost too many times and mostly to a guys that he couldn't intimidate, he lost to taylor who was athletic, so was rjj, calzaghe simply looked at him like he was a ghetto clown and then slapped the **** out of him and even dry humped him while ghetto clown was trying to pull one of his old tricks out of his pocket. Dawson simply abused him a first time and then defeated him second time. Limited and wild pascal knocked him down!
Kovalev is not featherfisted calslappy, he would **** him , not dry hump him.

Hopkins will not fight Stevenson, nor will he fight Kovalev...........Hopkins refused to fight Kovalev and Stevenson broke an agreement with HBO to fight Kovalev. Ward refuses to fight Kovalev and refuses to fight Stevenson even at 168...................

I agree that at Hopkins age there is no need for him to go after guys like Kovalev. However if this is the case FFS just tell it like it is. I'd have much more respect for him if he just came out and said "I'm old, I don't need someone like Kovalev". I'd also like to hear the callers tell it like it is, marvel at the man for doing what he doe's at his age but don't **** on my back and tell me it's raining by referring to B-Hop as the best in the weight class.
As you say Stevenson get's no pass.

Hopkins made a career out of beating fighters just like Kovalev.

As for Calzaghe, why bring him up? hes one of the most irrelevant boxers in history.
