The oldest Klit has maybe 1 or 2 years left in him, and the younger one probably 3 or 4 years before he retires.

After they do, it's clear that most boxfans want a Tyson like champion taking their place. No Ali type, Lennox type, Bowe type and SNV forbid a Haye type but a come forward fighter bobbing and weaving, left and right hook combo's with a huge punch.

But that's not what this is about...

Do you care wich country the next champ comes from?
I know a lot of posters here clearly favour "their" boxers above anyone else's no matter what style, ability, race or apperance he has...

I personally don't care about anything but style, ability and caracter and actually hope the next champion comes from a very small and insignificant country like Luxembourg or Grenada or something.
Becuase I like it to read comments here like; "He will be schooled once he fights a real slick black American!", "Liam McFeather would KO him inside 3 rounds!", "Cranky Riley Wiley has lost a lot of weight and is ready for top 100 fighters soon... he's coming for the champ!" and last but not least "Michael Kraftmann (born Miça Kravoniç) will beat that imposter once he gets a shot!"

    Sorry, getting of topic here...
Do you care about the country he's coming from?

Doesn't matter. I'd be more worried about the belts getting into the hands of some scumbag promoter who ensures his guy keeps the belt by cherrypicking.

Imagine how disgusting the division will be with 8 title holding Povetkin types

Tbf maybe the grossly unskilled Tyson Fury getting hold of a belt would be a good thing, at least he would actually attempt to unify them all out of some warped sense of gypsy honor

WBA belt in Don King's greedy fingers and the WBC belt held by some B- or C class Mexican/Mexican-American who's protected by Sulaiman is the worst thing that can happen to the division imo.

If the HW belts a shattered, is very bad too...

    WBC, WBC Silver
    IBF
WBA regular, WBA Super and WBA interim
    WBO
    IBO

    Like said, 8 different "champs"

Why is Povetkin your example. Man has faced tough challenges many times in his career.

    Yes..........................but......................

I think the belts will be passed on to several fighters first before Helenius unfies in his mid 30s.

I think the following will wear a belt before Robbe finally snatches them all...

    Mitchell
    Wach
    Welliver
    Rodriguez
    Chambers
    HAYE....................yeah, I said it
    Wilder

David Price will be belt holder in not too distant future. Also some Olympic guys will probably make impact before Robbe is in his mid 30s

Didn't care before, won't care after. All that matters is skill and character

    No.

But, if its not Helenius, its will be Glaskov, and other Ukranian.

    Come on guys...
I'm certain there are more here who favour nationality over quality.
A lot of the favoritism for HW's has been about national pride.

    Remember this?!?
There's only ooooooonnneeee... [any British heavyweight] ... (waving Union Jacks)
The US has the historical right to have the HW champion...
Since the fall of communism Europe....

    Let's hear your national pride!

I really dont care as long as its not splinterd like the pre Klitschko days.
As long as we have a clear unified champion its good for me and good for boxing.

I'd love to see a British world HW champ & we have a few decent heavies but I dont really care where they come from as long as they breathe some excitement into what has historically been the most important division in boxing.

If the Klits are just the start of a conveyor belt of cautious, upright guys who only throw 2-3 different punches all night then that cant be a good thing for boxing as a sport.

I'd just like to see some competitive fights for the world title(s) with a contrast of styles & characters. A return to the 90s when we had Tyson, Holy, Lewis & Bowe would be great & it wouldnt matter to me where they come from.
