... i give it to the other fighter. I counted 17 clinches in round 6, every single one of them initiated by Bernard Hopclinch. The referee seemed to be okay with it - fair enough, but when there is a close round and one guy is forcing the action all along while the other ties him up every time something happens, i think that should be taken into account for scoring. You don't score a round for someone's who is not trying to fight but trying to stall. It seems like Hopkins has some real ambitions of becoming the lightheavyweight John Ruiz. Constant holding, faking low blows, it's all there. A light slap that landed a bit above the crotch area and he bends over asif it's Golota vs Bowe or Holmes vs Cooney all over again... i lost a lot of respect for Hopkins there, lack of sportmanship. Especially that second time in the 11th, absolutely pathetic. It reminds me of that disgusting soccer diving tactics.
I think the same thing, but it was Hopkins only chance to hang with JC, and therefore he did so... If he had boxed, he would have been knocked out or slapped to embarresment.
That the way Bhop have to fight if he want to keep fighting. I dont mind watching him fight like that, he is the "p4p" gatekeeper, if u know what I mean.
its not a new thing, other than two or three fights he always makes it boring taking caution to the limit.
