Don't do it, son. Step away from the ledge. Oscar loves you.

Irrelevant to your point? Camacho also fought the best and guess what? Just like ODLH he lost the majority of his big fights. :patsch

I remember the time when stupid boxing fans thought that the order of the universe was this:

    1. Oscar De La Hoya
    2. God

At the same time sports fans in general thought that the order went like this:

    1. Michael Jordan
    2. God

    :-(

    Take this in slowly, okay.

I'm not concerned with your opinions on Oscar being overrated or where he may rank comparatively to the likes of Camacho. I'm saying that one thing you can't accuse him of doing is fighting weak opposition, and ducking the strongest opposition. Does this now compute?

Over my head huh:think Dont you know your talking TOO the boxing GURU?

I was at the ODLH /Paez fight and ill admit Paez was dwarfed by ODLH. Paez was on the downside at the time but still considered a good test for him.

True. But you can accuse him of losing to his toughest comp as well.

I want to come to your place but I'm afraid that I would make the one room apartment with 50 of you already crammed into it a bit more crowded.

Ok i was had replied with a good insult, until i read the last few words. I know even more than you give me credit for, i just choose not to get in every discussion on the Classic. I can go on threads and talk Sam Mcvey,Sam Langford all damn day but i choose to talk about the fighters i grew up watching or present day fighters. I only talk about the real old timers occasionly and when i do im informed on whom i speak about.

Oscar definitely lost the Sturm bout, though I can certainly appreciate the theory that he was looking beyond the German toward a showdown with Hopkins and thus registered a performance below his peak capabilities.

At any rate, Oscar was indeed an excellent fighter and a top 50-75 guy in my humble opinion.
