I believe the question who is the best heavyweight fighter in the world is always worth asking that's why they have belts in the first place, they're SUPPOSED to be the best in the world but nobody can say for sure which 1 it is. The point is, there is no no.1 because the 2 best won't find out who it is, we can speculate but to me they null and void the whole HW scene.

Boxrec now has Haye ranked no. 3. As if he actually beat someone to earn that ranking. What a croc.

Valuev only got the WBA belt Chagaev had from a dodgy close decision over John Ruiz in the first place!!! Ruiz, a guy nobody considered relevant. And where did Ruiz get the belt? An interim eliminater against Rahman after Ruiz himself had lost the belt to Jones!!!! The belt Ruiz had first earned versus Holyfield who had lost the belt to Lewis lol. Its as worthless as the paper in my bathroom.

Therefore the fact that Wlad beat Chagaev doesnt count for much in the WBA lineage stakes. The fact that Valuev has the actual title means that Vitali will hold that belt and it will mean as much as the titles Wlad holds which were all vacant belts aquired with no meritorious lineage.

This is nonsense. When Calzaghe and Kessler had collectively cleaned out the super middleweight division but hadn't fought each other yet, were they the "champions of the world"? Of course not. Just because they're brothers, doesn't change that fact.

i think its completely ridiculous that so many ignorant people in here are even entertaining that 2 brothers need and must fight each oter im order to prove there greatness or that wlad needs to start being more entertaining to be an all time great, just compare there ko percentages with other atgs and look bhop is prolly the most boring dull fighter out there but he iswidely accepted as great, i thi8nk there is a little discrimination going on here against euro fighters in particular white ones if they were americans white or black they would be getting there repect, =, i think many could say the same for several other euro fighters, people claim to be boxing fans but they really dont know boxing all they know is a few popular american fighters some great mexican fighters and manny paquiao but they dont realize there are a lot of excellent fighters over in europe who are just as hungry and our starting to prove it on american soil.

Calzaghe and Kessler? wtf? terrible comparing. Anyway It's a clear fact that both klits brothers ARE THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD. They are blood brothers for goodness sake. Their dreams is to have all the titles in their collection. Why can't we have both brothers be the heavyweight champions? If one lose then the other is the number 1 man.

When you consider we started off with 4 belts, 4 champs who would NEVER fight each other, I'm pretty happy having the two brothers clean it up. Them having the "unified" titles split between them won't last long. Vitali will retire (this is assuming he and Valuev fight, Vitali wins) then Wlad can circle around and pick up those belts. Then when HE retires or is beaten, he's handing off an undisputed title.

So I'm okay letting the two brothers hold it at this moment in time, knowing where it came from and foreseeing where it's headed. And also digging this is a unique moment in history and we're able to see double the HW title fights (actually good ones opposed to 5 years or so back).

We'll probably be looking at B+ or worse champs in the years following Wlad, so that even though the belts will be (hopefully still) unified, the title will likely change hands more often and we'll have a less than dominant performances.

Who knows? Maybe we'll look back and say wow, we had it pretty good in the aughts.

the lineage of "THE HW CHAMPIONSHIP" the one and only hw title is a singular thing , these abc titles are irrelevant in the grand scheme.

    THere can only be one,:good

now these guys are brothers and Wlad has beaten the lot of contenders forever now, so is WLad the champ and Vitali the no1 challenger who wont face him, thats the best u can hope for historically although I admit its a funny situation:yep

Why should it be any different based on the relationship between two fighters? There can only be one champion, and to make that champion, the best need to fight each other. Simple as that. This brothers crap is just making up bull****. If the Williams sisters got to the finals of a tennis tournament and refused to face each other, would they be "co-champions"? Would wimbledon make a second plate to give one to each of them? Of course not. This is moronic.

Is there a rule that in the heavyweight division, there can only be 1 heavyweight champion? Do you even have a brother? Would you fight your own flesh and blood for a world title to prove whos the man even though your own mom don't want it to happen?

Sounds like you don't respect your mom and in which proves you don't love your mom for comments you just put. Unlike you, the Klit brothers love their mom to death and won't beat each other brains out if their mom don't approve.
