When was Bernard Hopkins ACTUALLY in his prime ?

    He wasn't a charismatic fighter like DLH or Tito but a clear risk, so he wasn't worthwhile unifying with. And the MW division was a bit of a wasteland after Jones and McClellan left it, so there wasn't much to do there anyway.

    He was brilliant at 'extending' the rules which in turn increased his longevity to a ridiculous extent.. athletic prime is over by mid 30s for anyone but some can adapt & adjust to it & he was the best at that, I have to give the cheating **** props for that

    Bernard's prime was from Segundo Mercado thru his fight with Oscar. (I have no clue what the ages were)

    I give this timeframe because pre-Mercado, Roy showed he wasn't good enough quite yet, and by the time of Oscar he was beginning to move a lot more. It's also telling he tee'd off on William Joppy and couldn't finish him,
