Ali`s prime was his fight with Williams though, I think he was on point because Cleveland was a big guy and a puncher.

very hard to say. I agree with some. Sibson physically, but maybe Hearns psychologically. If you average that out you get 1984... Although he looked good against that other Kronk fighters in 1982 whose name I forgot. Fought him in Atlantic City. Knocked him out in 2 rounds. I hate when my memory fails.

Hagler finest performance was the surgical destruction of Mustafa Hamsho first fight 81. Hamsho had bashed and bludgeon his way to No 1 contender. And Hagler clinically dismantled him.

I am with those who suggest that the Hagler that became World Champ had already peaked. The Hagler from WormIII to Seales was Marvin's prime.

But that is not to say Hagler 80-83 was anything other than simply... Marvelous!

In my opinion this is completely wrong in two ways. #1 Both Napoles and Griffith were small welters fighting at middle weight against a dominate and big middleweight champ, Leonard was able to go up to Lt.Heavy successfully, he had the frame to fight competitively at middle. #2 Both Napoles and Griffith were pretty long in the tooth, and beyond prime , and had many tough fights by the time they faced Monzon, Leonard was only taking care of his body and resting for nearly 5 yrs prior to him challenging Hagler, he was far more fresher than Griffith or Napoles. I don't understand were you see Napoles foot work was better against Monzon because for most of their fight he was the one applying the pressure and coming forward, than the fight shifted to the middle of the ring, and Napoles used mainly his abilty to ride, and slip punches, he had basically fought pretty flat footed until he was stopped. And neither man had the foot speed of Leonard even in their primes. I know most on this site have this super high opinion on Monzon but please be real about his competition at least.

That would be Caveman Lee. Actually it was the first round. Lee had a major drug problem at the time though. Hagler would have beaten him regardless, but probably wouldn't have obliterated him as quickly if Lee had been clean.
