So everyone saying Mosley's gonna summon up some magical powers and knock Cotto out, can someone please tell me when his last LEGIT knockout over a real contender was? Let's not count a completely shot Vargas who DLH and Tito knocked out in his prime. Not to mention that fight was at 154 and we all know Mosley has zero power at 154.
On that same token though, When is the last time you saw mosley hurt. His entire career I saw him hurt once against Forrest after taking an uppercut that almost decapitated him. I don't think that it's a good bet to assume that cotto is going to be able to KO shane after DLH, Vargas, Wright, and Forrest whom are all bigger and arguably punch harder (except maybe for Winky) could not do it. I see this one going to the cards either way.
Shane was legitimately hurt by Forrest. Cotto can punch as hard as Forrest only he can do it to the body too. I DO think Cotto punches harder than those guys + has the body attack.
Adrian Stone back in 2001 when he was champion. He has shown some power since then but he doesnt throw in combination with the same relentlessness as he did in his prime. He is a better boxer now, and craftier but he lost a step but is still a very good fighter.
Hatton got dropped as well. Only fighter to ever visibly hurt Mosley in almost 50 fights was Vernon Forrest.
It wasnt just one time against Forrest. I specifically remember Forrest making Mosley scream with a body shot. And it wasnt a manly scream either.
It's becoming a common trade around here to get assaulted with the most proposterous allegations from BoxingGuru and that is a most well studied one, to reduce Fernando Vargas, whom is known to have been beaten only by ODLH and Tito in FOTYs candidates in 2000 and 2002, to a shot fighter... And the fact that was at 154 and Shane (with no power at 154) stopped him TWICE in 2006, reinforces the idea that he has what it takes to shake Miguel... BoxingGuru knows well that Shane stopped Adrian Stone in the 21st of July 2001 and that's why he asked ya, it's a false question and still very well stated to give indications or suggestions that Shane cannot hurt Miguel. All in all, good to know that he is banking on Cotto's easy win so that I trash him like he deserves afterwards...
Fair point. I believe that was the 10th round of their first encounter, and it was a BRUTAL ****ing body shot.
